Which laundry detergent is better, liquid or powder.?

The differences are SO slight, between them, -you might as well just go for the one that's the cheapest or easiest for you to use. Most of the people I know LOVE the ';Tide'; brand- but everyone has their OWN favorites. :)Which laundry detergent is better, liquid or powder.?
I don't know that one is better than the other, but I prefer liquid because it seems to rinse out better than dry soap powder.Which laundry detergent is better, liquid or powder.?
for many reason's ,i was told by an appliance repair man ,that powder clogs the pipe's ,it's better to use liquid.
The Enviorment likes Liquid better. Then powder is fine but the liquid dissolves better.
In my opinion liquid. It dissolves better.
Either is good.... I prefer the liquid because it dissolves more rapidly in the water... Especially in cold water.
I love Gain liquid Detergent , but as far as powder Tide with bleach is #1

I sometimes use both.
I prefer an unscented Liquid. It seems to mix

better with the water, and to rinse out thoroughly.
Definately the liquid. Would you wash your car with powder stuff and water? of course not.
liquid of course.....

What do you think of liquid cheese with powder vegetable soup for flavor?

I think it's impossible to have an actual liquid REAL cheese. If you're talking about some fake cheese-flavored water, then it all sounds disgusting and horribly unhealthy. Both the cheese powder and the vegetable soup mix are loaded with sodium and preservatives. Why not make a homemade vegetable soup; and melt some real cheese into it?

Whats brand has good foundation either powder or liquid?

thats not too expensive. or if it is expensive, at least you get a nice amount.Whats brand has good foundation either powder or liquid?
clinique is the bomb. they have one that goes on like a concealer and dries like a powder and feels really light but covers well.Whats brand has good foundation either powder or liquid?
Bare Minerals, Clinique, or Physicians Formula make excellent foundations in powder or liquid.
Bare Minerals. Now, I've never used it, but all I've heard is good things about it. I actually went to a makeup store with my friend, and she wanted to try it, so they put it on for her, to find the right shade. After she was done, her skin looked phenomenal. It'd kinda pricey where I live, but I think the results are worth it.
Everyday minerals, cheap go to their Custom kits http://www.everydayminerals.com/g?t=kits where you can order a FREE sample makeup kit 3 Foundations

1 Blushe %26amp; Face Color ,1 Concealer, you get small amounts that will last for abot 10 applications depending on how much and often you use them( 3 foundations to figure out what shade is right for you)

All you pay for this kit is shipping cost which is 5 dollars or less depending on where you are.

Even if you buy a full size pot its cheaper than other mineral makeups and great quality, just read the reviews
The really cheap covergirl works pretty good, lots of shades etc..

(plus they have good coverage)

and the covergirl in the shiny case works well too, it's for aging people, covers wrinkles!! :D

(foundation is like $3 and powder is about $6-7)
I like Clinique powder foundation.
LAminerals.com

I just ordered both their foundations, Hollywood it's $17 something, and NoHoGlo it's $20 something. The jars are plenty big, and a little goes a long way! They have really cheap samples with free shipping. THat's what I did first.

What is a good liquid conceler and powder?

i have kinda oily skin, and kinda alot of blemishes, so whats the best stuff? What is a good liquid conceler and powder?
The first thing I would do is wash you face really good so it won't look oily when you put on the make up.A good liquid conceler and powder is ';M.A.C.'; It works so good.It always cover blemishes and you can't ever see any pimple. The concelar I would use is Select Moisturecover which is a luxuriously blendable moisturizing concealer in a tube with built-in doe-foot applicator. Goes on exactly where you want it: blends in for a natural satin-smooth ultra-moisturized finish. Layers up for added coverage. Line-softening, skin-perfecting: The Pros’ “select” for under-eyes and delicate skin. Wide shade range provides soft, natural camouflage. Use with the 194 Concealer Brush. It is usally about $15.50.For powder I would use Iridescent Powder/Pressed which is a luminous pressed face powder that highlights the skin with a subtle glaze of colour. A jet-milled mixture of Mica and pigments gives the skin a beautiful sheen and a subtle glow. Ultra smooth and silky. May be used alone or with foundation. It can be used on its own or mixed into other products like foundations or moisturizers to enhance their iridescent qualities. Long-lasting and designed to apply easily and uniformly without streaking and caking. Because it's so concentrated it should be used sparingly at first.Apply Iridescent Powder with #129 Powder/Blush Brush for the desired effect. This powder is about $21.00.If you want powder and foundation(WHICH COMES TOGETHER) use studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation which is Studio Fix is a powder and foundation in one that combines good coverage with ease of application. Designed to be used dry, the powder and pigments create a matte, velvety texture. Contains Silica, which helps to maintain a matte finish by absorbing oils on the skin, as well as Talc to provide a smoother, matte finish. Long-wearing. Available in a wide range of colours. Can be applied with a brush, sponge, or a powder puff.It usally about $26.00..I know it is expensive but it is worth it,M.A.C. works so good. What is a good liquid conceler and powder?
Well before you even put your make-up on, make sure that you use a good moisturizer that fits your skin type. You say that you have kinda oily skin, i recommend that you go to your nearest Clinique counter and ask them to show you couple of moisturizers that would work best for you. It may sound weird to wear a moisturizer even if you have oily skin but it is very important. If you don't wear the moisturizer under your make-up, your skin tends to leave dry skin that is noticeable and then your whole face just looks like you caked on the powder. Clinique happens to have good make-up that is made for certain types of skin. Just ask one of the workers and I'm sure they would be happy to help you with a face match!! Hope this helps.

What is better between a liquid foundation or just powder?

I want a flawless look. I want all of my imperfections/blemishes hidden. So is liquid or powder better? Or is using both even better? Any suggestions on both. I want to look like a professional did my makeup. What is better between a liquid foundation or just powder?
As a makeup artist, I would recommend a foundation primer and then a concealer for your problem areas and the liquid foundation. You can follow it with a sheer powder but that's really just preference. Here are some extra points...

1) Make sure your foundation color matches from your face to your neck to ensure a more natural appearance.

2) Use blush or bronzer to bring color back into your face after you've made it all one color with the foundation.

3) Use a highlighter such as Benefit's High Beam. Dot it under your eyes and then over your cheek bones. Then pat with your finger tip until there is a nice highlighted pink hue. What is better between a liquid foundation or just powder?
ok so i had the same problem as you do with not knowing what to buy. One day i went to buy powder and i acedentaly bought this and its soo amazing! Its like a powder, but its like a liquid too. its creamy and it covers all my blemishes and red spots, but it doesnt look cakey either. Its amazing and you should try it

http://www.covergirl.com/products/produc鈥?/a>

Hope this helped :)
i remcommed powder mineral makeup that would isnk in your skin instead of liquid foundation wear you might put too much in one place than the other then powder if u put too much on then it would look cakey.. I laso recommend using a primer before foundation like smashbox light primer and then loose powder after foundation
Both, for flawless.

Foundation (on first) to cover, powder(over foundation) to soften out the look.
Try using concealer on your blemishes then putting foundation over it. What type you choose depends on your skin. If you have dry skin, stay away from the powder foundation. It can make your skin look really dry.
liquid foundation or mousse gives the most coverage.

then press powder lightly over to set it.

preferably choose oil free if you have bad skin.
I usually use both for that perfect look

Reduce a liquid to powder?

What is the best way to reduce a liquid to a powder? Is it best to just boil it down?

I think I heard once that you could put it the liquid in a pot on an open oven door to let the liquid evaporate. Will that do the job?Reduce a liquid to powder?
usually you end up with nottaReduce a liquid to powder?
you cant do dat, it dont work stoupid.

  • Liquid & Powder Foundation: Which looks more natural, which hides acne best?

At the moment I use liquid foundation, but I don't know if I should be switching to powder. Which one does a better job at covering blemishes? And which one looks more natural?Liquid %26amp; Powder Foundation: Which looks more natural, which hides acne best?
I definetly say liquid or a combination of both. Alot of people say that liquid foundation makes your acne worst, but mine IMPROVES your acne. Its called Almay Clear Complexion and honestly, my face has been outrageously clear. The only time i get the ocassional zit is around my period. i hope this helps :)Liquid %26amp; Powder Foundation: Which looks more natural, which hides acne best?
Powder is SO much better for you! Liquid may cover it up the first day, but by the third day it makes it worse!
Well, you should always put powder on top of your liquid foundation to set it anyway, and to make sure that it lasts longer. The powder will also absorb oils on your skin and help with blemishes.

But to answer your question, powder generally looks more natural, and liquid had better coverage for people with acne. However, liquid foundation can look natural if applied a certain way and if you use a good brand. If you really need it, then use it. But try wearing just powder and see if it provides enough coverage for you to wear alone. If it does, you'll save yourself a lot of money and your makeup application will go much more quickly. :)
tbh i think you should go for a creme foundation they have amazing coverage and then once you've applyed the creme foundation put a small amount of the power on top to set it :)

your skin will look amazing trust me .
I use a combination of both, which works great. Also, you should make sure and get a cover-up stick, which you can use directly on small blemishes to cover them and they are easy to carry for use during the day.
    powder.

because i believe powder is always easier,

and it covers blemishes more successfully.

it looks more natural, as long as you buy powder foundation close or at exact your skin tone.

happy make-uping %26amp; best of luck!

    x
I use powder. But when I break out and need a little extra coverage, I use liquid just on a few spots. Then put the powder over it. It works pretty well. I think that the powder looks more natural also. Hope this helped! :)

I think the spelling is CURARE. I think venom is a liquid and the other is either a liquid or paste that arrowheads are dipped into. I believe there is unbelievable pain between taking the stuff and dying.
    Ummm,

my friend, I hope you are asking this question for just the heck of it but if you are down and asking this question then it worries us all.

As far as I can guess is that you are going through a phase of life when you feel you are lonely and you have no one to talk to. You need to get out of your blue's and stop sitting too long in front of your PC and your TV. It will will further frustrate you.

You need to be in the physical world to start feeling alive. It is easier said than done but trust me you have to drag your self out of your room. To begin with join a gym or any sport, if not than start taking long walks.

Physical exertion/ exercise creates Harmon's in your body which keeps you happy. Start going to places of your own interest and you will find people who will enjoy your company.

Life is too precious to spent in blues or wasted, make an effort of going out doors and of making a time table for your day. Go to bed early and wake up early.

Start enjoying life and trust me you will not regret it.

Who tried maybelliene mineral powder liquid foundation?

    is it good

or is something better?Who tried maybelliene mineral powder liquid foundation?
Go to makeupalley.com, they have reviews for makeup products from people who've tried it. It really helps me with my makeup choices.

But I've heard that Maybelline's mineral products aren't the best.

Good luck!Who tried maybelliene mineral powder liquid foundation?
Ive got it and its good,

It can dry skin out so only use it if you have oily skin or you moisturize.

I find that is you want to go mineral, get a mineral foundation. I hate to spend alot on makeup, so i usually go for cheap products awell as expensive.

Ive got L'oreal and maybelline mineral powder foundations and they're just about the same and work really well. They're a good price and not as much as the other ones.

If you're in the UK or know where you can get Collection 2000, they have a ';Perfecting minerals'; mineral foundation and it is outstanding and better then L'oreal and maybelline and costs half as much.

How do you transform a solid liquid into powder?

I hate chemistry!!!! :[How do you transform a solid liquid into powder?
I have heard of students thinking a powder was a liquid because it seemed to pour. There is no such thing as a solid liquid. Powder is a solid. How do you transform a solid liquid into powder?
The only solid liquid I know of is glass. It's structure stays as it goes from liquid to solid. Powdering it is easy, just bash it, grind it, heat and fast cool it. Any number of ways. If you are talking about freezing something and then powdering it, thats a different story. Commercial mills exist for liquid N2 cooling and then pulverizing with something that looks like a blender.
I doubt this is what you are after but....

Prepare a solution (some solid material DISSOLVED in a liquid). Fill this solution into a vial, then freeze. This would be your solid liquid.

Pull a good vacuum on the frozen vial, and then, SLOWLY, raise the temperature to above the melting point of the liquid, while maintaining the vacuum. The solvent will sublime (go directly to vapor phase from the solid phase) without becoming liquid and redissolving the solute.

Once all the solvent has been removed by the vacuum, the vacuum can be released, and you a left with powder in the vial.

This is a long explanation of a process called lypholization, or ';freeze drying';.
There are solids and there are liquids. I've never heard of a solid liquid.
a solid liquid?? haha re-check your question there buddy!!

    But my guess what you are looking for is, supersaturate a solvent by heating it up with the solid with it, which will dissolve the solid into the solvent. Once thats done, let it sit out at room temperature for a few minutes then in an ice bath, this will recrystallize the solid back out of solution! Making crystals or a ';powder';

    Bare minerals!!!!!

I just started it about 2 weeks ago and its amazing, Havent had any acne either!

(tho my proactive usually takes care of that)
BARE MINERALS (bare escentuals, same brand). ITs mineral makeup, and its amazing. get it on ebay if you think its too expensive, but make sure its this brand and not another.
    POWDER.

You need to use MAC Studio Fix powder foundation. It gives excellent coverage plus no shine!

    http://www.maccosmetics.com/templates/pr鈥?/a>

In addition, I use MAC blot powder for touch ups.

    http://www.maccosmetics.com/templates/pr鈥?/a>

    MAC cosmetics are excellent!
Powder......not puff powder...I mean bareminerals....it is the best...and not only does it give you coverage it looks like your bare skin...so it doesnt look caked on even if it really is!!!
    Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse
that new mouse foundation i think mabaline makes it!
Try ALL-natural mineral makeup. Make sure it isn't based on minerals or simply with minerals. You want the real deal. I know www.qvc.com sells a well know brand called ';Bare Escentuals.'; There all other brands now that natural makeup is catching on. It will give you a natural look...clean, no shine, good color matching. Try finding a carrier locally so you can go in and try the stuff out and get some tips. They should do your face for free with no obligation to buy. Whatever you do, don't go to bed in your make-up! Wash it off and apply some sort of moisturizer. I recommend Clean and clear since it has salicydic acid to fight breakouts. I don't have problems from that lotion, but I am currently searching for an all-natural alternative.
I like to use Maybellines PURE line. IT is a small teal/aqua tube and costs around 6-7$

It is a medium coverage foundation and its made with mostly water and I hardly ever had breakouts. Except around that time of the month and theres not much you can do about that.

When you are purchasinf foundations besides matching with a great color check to see what type of coverage it is. light/medium/heavy etc.

When you are going to the club or out on the town you want to use a heavier foundation to help it from running and or smearing when you get hot from dancing etc.

If you cannot find 1 shade that works for ya I buy the shade lighter and the shade darker and mix the 2 to get the shade I want. THis also comes in handy during the summer months having two colors cause when you get tan you really dont need as much foundation as you do in the winter

    Hope this helps
I am a big fan of makeup. I make it a point to get make overs at the departments stores as often as possible. I personally think that Lancome is the best make up I have tried without getting into the super expensive stuff. Their liquid is really good and doesn't make you skin look oily. They are a more costly brand with the foundations running about $33 and up. If you want to go drug store I would recommend a powder from Revlon, they are pretty good. I just really think that you should never buy a foundation without trying it on. Oh and there's always Mary Kaye which is really good too, the liquid. A good tip is to look at the makeup in natural sunlight to make sure the color is right. Good luck.
I like liquid the best. Yes, cream to powder is easier, but I don't think its coverage is as good as liquid and I think liquid stays on longer. I also like to set my foundation with powder afterward. My skin is oily but doing this I still have all day coverage.

i heard dream matte mousse is good

What kind of foundation looks most NATURAL on skin?(powder, liquid mousse, etc)?

i do have some spots and uneven skin tone on my face.

i am thinking of buy Loreal Bare Natural...what do u think? What kind of foundation looks most NATURAL on skin?(powder, liquid mousse, etc)?
If by spots you mean pimples, i suggest that you don't get the Bare Natural because it has talc in it which can irritate skin even more. You're on the right track wit the whole mineral thing but try a talc free brand that also has no fillers or harsh, irritating ingredients. If you're looking for a drugstore brand try Physicians' Formula (some of their products aren't talc free so read carefully). If not try a brand like Bare Minerals by Bare Esentuals. It might match your skintone depending on your ethnic background. It didn't match mine so i use Urban Decay's Surreal Mineral Makeup (loose powders unfortunately).

    Hope this helps.

btw, i think that powders are more natural as long as it's the right colour for your skin. I found that once the liquids were exposed to air, they dried way too quickly and therefore were harder to blend especially at the hair and jawline because they were already dry by the time i finished covering the rest of my face. What kind of foundation looks most NATURAL on skin?(powder, liquid mousse, etc)?
I've just bought L'oreal Bare Natural. I have blemishes as well, and I find it works very well. It's expensive for what i'm used to buying though.
    bareminerals
maybelline dream mouse matte is a real blend.

lancome liquid foundations are so light, you cant tell they are there

power leaves a trace, if too much is put on....

i have loreal bare natural, and it works pretty good, but it is a bit heavy on the face.
i fink mousse is the best
Estee Lauder Fresh Air Base is the best!! I have used it over 20 years and I have NO wrinkles. It is wonderful! This make-up is a WONDER!
    tinted moisturiser.......

slight colour to help even out skin tone, but not heavy or orange!! plus it won't dry out ur skin

if you've got spots the worse thing to do is try and bury them under heavy foundation, your skin won't be able to breathe so you'll get more spots, so you'll put on even more foundation, so you'll get more spots....nasty cycle
For me, mineral foundation is the way to go. If I have very dark circles or any reddish areas, I apply a small amount of liquid foundation (prefer Loreal or Neutragena) first with a small brush, to conceal; then buff on the mineral powder. Very natural, flawless appearance. Bare Minerals are my favorite mineral foundation, but I also really like IsaDora and Loreal. Good luck!
I like liquid but that's just me.
I recommend mineral makeup in powder form. I use Arbonne's mineral foundation with their Personalizer, which reduces redness and soaks up the oil on my t-zone.

You can find them both at www.denihan.myarbonne.com,
mousse, it covers well and makes your skin tone more even along with looking natural! recommend if definatly there all good apart from dream matt mousse..that just looks orange and horrid in my opinion.

liquid- too heavy and thick.. not vey good and looks un natural

powder- in my opinion it just looks clumpy and crispy.

    xxxx
Get bare minerals. It doesn't work to cover up MAJOR acne but it does work wonders to help skin tone and a few pimples. It's also really healthy for your skin and it'll last you forever :).
I have Loreal Bare Natural and I love it...its small, and costs like 10 dollars, but it lasts a long time and I notice as soon as I put it on my face it looks like smooth and natural.Plus, it has a little brush with it so its really easy to carry places! hope I helped!
i would say mousse because it's lighter then liquid and heavier then powder and if you have dry skin the powder is going to look horrible. Try Maybelline dream matte mousse.
Hmm i would try a power would look most natural but may not give as much coverage as a liquid! But i wouldnt use mousse as it made my skin vry vry dry and i had to stop using it!
Mineral definitely. I use LA Minerals cuz the bismuth in bare minerals, sheer cover, and loreal makes me itchy.

  • Is There A Topical Powder Or Liquid That You Can Put On A Cat That Will Lessen The Reaction Of Allergies?

Cats make my eyes itchy and watery. I start sneezing, my chest gets tight and wheeze because of them.

We've had a cat come up and pretty much adopted us for his family. He is the sweetest thing. I want to take him to the vet and get all his shots. But everytime he comes in the house, I flair up! Is there anything I can put on him to lessen my reaction?

Thanks :)Is There A Topical Powder Or Liquid That You Can Put On A Cat That Will Lessen The Reaction Of Allergies?
I am allergic also, but I have a couple of cats. I have to wash my hands immediately after petting them, but what saves me the most allergies is the HEPA filter on my vaccuum and cleaning daily. Just keep up with the hair and dander and wash your hands when you pet the cat. I used to wheeze, too, but you do build up a tolerance to them.Is There A Topical Powder Or Liquid That You Can Put On A Cat That Will Lessen The Reaction Of Allergies?
Yes! Go to your local Petsmart! There are several products out there to help.
A doctor can help with that...
I also have allergies to cats (worse for dogs and rabbits tho') I have 4 cats. I keep them brushed, and the best product I've found for me is 'Simple Solution - Allergy Relief from Cats'. I get it at PetSmart. The 1st thing I have to do is take Benedryl or some other antihistamine (that's what blocks the allergic reaction in humans). I wet, then wring out a washrag so that it is just damp (you don't have to use so much product then). Then I lay the rag across their back while holding them (one at at time, of course!) squirt a generous amount of solution on it, and rub back and forth.

I brush again to remove some more hair and dander (which is really what we are allergic to) then rub again with the wet rag. HE WILL ABSOLUTELY HATE IT !! Rinse out the wash rag really well, Wash Your Hands! and don't touch your eyes. Good luck with your sweet cat. Cats can be such wonderful friends!

    MAC Studio Fix
It depends on your skin type. My fav is MAC studio tech. It is a full coverage powder that works best when applied with a foundation brush rather than the sponge that it comes with. The cool thing about MAC is that they have a back to MAC program. Meaning, if you turn in 6 empty containers (foundation, eyeshadow, etc) you get a free lipstick of your choice!!!

What is the best foundation to wear in summer? moouse or powder or liquid ?

Well i am not confident about my skin i am very spotty so i was wondering which out of rge three above is the best foundation to wear in summer. somethink that won't make the face oily to qucik? pleaseeeee HELP!!!!What is the best foundation to wear in summer? moouse or powder or liquid ?
It depends which one you're most comfortable with. I prefer powder year round, because it's so light and natural-looking. However, if you prefer using liquid, I suggest applying it with a brush. When you apply it with your fingers, you tend to use too much and it often looks streaky. This way, you will achieve a more air brushed look and use only as much as you need. You can find foundation brushes in the cosmetics aisle of any drugstore. What is the best foundation to wear in summer? moouse or powder or liquid ?
    it depends on your skin.

if it gets oily during the summer, i suggest powder.

mousse isn't too bad either, but i'd stay away from liquid during the summer.
    Wendy

I recommend using liquid and topping it off with a powder. Like you I have oily skin, and I use exclusively Coonobabe Savila base liquid foundation, topping it off with their happy endings powder to set it in. The liquid foundation made specifically for oily skin, will cover the spotty skin. http://www.coonobabe.com

    hope this helps you.
    Powder.
Make up in summer is really bad for you, as it makes you break out more. But I realize that you might not have the confidence to stop wearing it. I would recommend bare minerals. It doesn't clog you pores (so less spots, and not just in summer but in the long run too). If you don't have this GENIUS product, try some other form of powder makeup. it lets you skin breathe, whilst stopping it become oily and preventing as many breakouts as possible.
Powder is what will make your face non oily. if you use the mineral powder that will work the best.

put the corn starch in a cup or small bowl and add the cold water to it and stir. Are you using it as thickining agent for something like gravy ,stew or a sauce?? go 50 -50 equal parts water and corn starch ... To use cornstarch - dissolve 1 teaspoon cornstarch in 1 tablespoon cold liquid (water is fine). Stir or whisk this cold mixture (known as slurry) into 1 cup hot liquid at the end of the cooking time. Cook until thickened, about 30 seconds to 1 minute, stirring constantly. Cook 1 minute more to remove any ';cornstarch'; taste. These proportions will make about 1 cup of medium-thick sauce, soup or gravy. For thinner sauce, use 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch. For thicker sauce, use up to 2 teaspoons cornstarch.

Should I use liquid detergent or powder?

I am heading to college in a couple of weeks, what would be the most affordable/ reliable form of detergent for me to use? This includes softener etc.

Thanks!Should I use liquid detergent or powder?
Powdered detergents seem to get more for your money. You can buy a 28 Lb. bucket for $14. That does 200 loads. It works out to be almost half cost per load than Tide liquid. I don't use softener.Should I use liquid detergent or powder?
I think liquid detergent washes better and you can probably use less of it than powder than get the job done. Try buying whatever liquid detergent is on sale..Sometimes they have the smaller bottles for like 4 or 5 dollars in gain or tide.. try getting a couple of bottles when there on sale.. I buy Tide or Gain, whichever is on sale at the time. and I use Gain fabric softener.

    Cold Water Tide.
Trust me when I say that GAIN does a SUPER job and smells BETTER and LONGER than anything I've tried.

Another little trick if you are going to wash sheets or towels ( which tend to get musty over time )throw in a cup of AMMONIA along with GAIN and GAIN LIQUID FABRIC SOFTNER and let it soak at least 30 minutes or longer on warm or warm/hot it pulls out ALL odors and leaves everything smelling wonderful !

What is the best powder and liquid foundation for fair-medium skin tone?

    Get Almay products.

    They're awesome.

:)What is the best powder and liquid foundation for fair-medium skin tone?
clinique is good....i use it. and if you have acne they have a liquid that helps clears them up and oil free. AND they arent that expensive. What is the best powder and liquid foundation for fair-medium skin tone?
Mary Kay is one of the best.
I heard bare minerals works good, but you have to apply it alot throughout the day.
Penguin is absolutley correct Loreal Infallible is great for medium skin tones and you probably won't even need to use a powder as well. But if you do get something from Almay.
i use infalliable (sp?) by loreal, it's a liquid but i put on very little then i use this powder foundation i bought online from a company called mineral glitters, it's really great it really helped clear up my skin. i have fair medium skin also. for blush i like to use a light pinkish tone and not purple or orange ew.
well there's foundation out called dream matte mousse its brilliant for any skin colour. I'd recommend the fawn colour if u have pale skin
I have used bare minerals and found it has to be reapplied. I am using Loreal nude beige and it lasts all day if I remember to put lotion on underneath. I like liquid foundations in the winter to help with moisturizing and powder in the summer. Remember to cover with lotion (with sunscreen) first and the foundation: liquid or powder will work better. Good luck.
    Mineral foundations are great ;)
I would go to a major department store and explain to each counter that you are trying to find the perfect foundation for your skin and simply ask for a sample... that way you can see what works best for you... everyone's skin is different so what I may like may look and feel different on your skin... you know... I use NARS primer, foundation, and powder...
    bare mineral
clinique powder has skin tones that will match your easily, ringing out high cheekbones, or even making you look tan. their foundation is awesome too, and makes your skin glow. go to the make-up counter and find your clinique tones. good luck!
    don't know

Is mineral liquid or mineral powder foundation better for oily skin?

Is mineral liquid or mineral powder foundation better for oily skin? If mineral powder foundation is used, is using an additional powder to set make-up necessary? Are there any low- to mid-price brands you would recommend? Is mineral liquid or mineral powder foundation better for oily skin?
Mineral is better because it absorbs oil and won`t clog pores. No, you do not need an additional powder. Physicians Formula Talc-Free loose powder is great for oily skin. Almay loose skin is also, but it gives more coverage. They are about $10-$11 each and go on sale often. Is mineral liquid or mineral powder foundation better for oily skin?
The less coverage you use, the better. After I began applying Vaseline to my T-zone at night before going to bed and ditching the daily liquid foundation, my skin has improved in tone and health SO much and doesn't produce nearly as much oil. I've never used mineral foundation/powder, but have found that after only a few weeks of using the Vaseline routine, my skin calmed down a lot and now only requires a layer of compact powder (I use CoverGirl TRUblend) and a few dabs of concealer. And you will feel so much better when you don't have all the weight of a liquid foundation on your skin.
Mineral powder doesn't cover that good at all...well at least for me. i have oily %26amp; acne prone skin. and when i tried it, it irritated my skin %26amp; made it itch...and plus it didn't even cover my acne or anything. it was like wearing bronzer but in your color. it was terrible. i love MAC's studio fix powder foundation. i's great coverage %26amp; its buildable %26amp; it helps with my oily skin %26amp; it covers my acne. it doesn't make me break out that i've noticed...well since i do always have acne lol. maybe you should try it %26amp; see if u like it. or maybe try another powder foundation if your not comfortable with wearing MAC's. hope i helped =)
i think powder would be better because it won't slide off as easily as liquid when you sweat.

also i heard that it absorbs the oil on your face.

i don't think you have to use separate setting powder. not sure. but for liquid you should because it can melt off your face.

physicians formula is good because it won't clog your pores %26amp; there's one that's talc free.
i would use mineral powder, but if ur skin is really oily, you migt want to use mineral liquid then put on mineral powder....its just that if your skin is really oily, it might wash away the powder, but at the same time if you put mineral liquid by itself it might look too oily automatically...so i wud say put the liquid then the powder on...

    hope i helped!! :)

What is the difference between using powder detergent and liquid?

and how do I know if my washer can use powdered? What is the difference between using powder detergent and liquid?
Yes you could technically premix your detergent. You just have to make sure to remember the concentration. For example if you put 3 scoops of powdered detergent in the bottle and then 1 1/2 cups of water you will know to use 1/2 cup of the liquid premix for each load of laundry. What is the difference between using powder detergent and liquid?
I use powdered because my wife won't let me buy liquid.

I put the powder in the machine then start it up. I wait until the washer is half full of water before I start throwing in, so the powder has had a chance to mix with the water so there's less chance of getting powder in your clothes.
Read your owner's manual. Most machines can take either, but powdered detergent doesn't always dissolve and sticks to your clothes. This is especially true in front loaders that use a small amount of water.
Well.... The powder kind isn't all that bad, if you put the detergent in first, and allow it to disolve in the water before you add your clothes.

I guess you could mix the powder with water as you mentioned, but I think it would be a lot of work, and probably a bit messy. =/
One is concentrated, one is watered down, Literally.

I agree with first answer read owner's manual.
I have always used liquid, it dissolves easier and when we had a septic tank the people that installed the septic system recommended using the liquid as the powder don't always dissolve and it can clog up the drain into your septic system I also use liquid or gel dish washing soap for my dish washer.
i like using liquid because if its really cold the powered doesn't melt and u can end up with chunks of soap in clothes

Do you prefer liquid or powder foundation?

I use liquid foundadtion from MAC but id ont really like it... im thinking of switching to powder foundation

what about you guys?Do you prefer liquid or powder foundation?
Liquid ! My little sister uses that powder stuff and I despise it. It makes such a mess. I have banned the damn stuff from my room. I am sick to death of finding it all over my bed and on my clothes.Do you prefer liquid or powder foundation?
    i prefer powder...

i use bare escentuals (you can find it at sephora) powder and than when i finish all of my make up i put mineral veil over it.

it makes your face look very smooth and it doesn;t make your makeup look like it is caked on.
I use clinique moisture sheer tint (tinted moisturizer)

I like it a lot better than powder because it has better covereage, and better than foundation because it isn't as thick and cakey.
liquid clogs your pores like MAD

    and it looks too cakey

I use Neutrogena (spelling?) because it's known for being sensitive to faces, and I use the light powder foundation and apply very little with a brush.
I use MAC tinted moisturizer (which I LOVE) and powder foundation over that. So I like powder better, I think it makes my skin look more natural.
    I don't use foundation, I don't wear makeup.
Liquid. It has better coverage. I just use CoverGirl TruBlend and it works really well :)
    i like liquid better :)

powder is more likely to look orange if you use a lot of it.

What works better: Liquid or powder foundation?

What(brand) should I use that is lightweight and make that faint redness in my skin to disapear? What works better: Liquid or powder foundation?
Use liquid foundation, and then apply the powder, that keeps your face from being Tooo shiny. Also, depends on your skin type; if you have oily skin try using powder. If you have dry skin, then make sure u use little bit of scent-free lotion, it will keep your skin from being flaky after you apply foundation or powder! But in your case you want to get rid of redness-- try foundation and then little bit of powder. Hope it helps!Oh, and Covergirl brand fits most skin types, but you gotta try different brands, to get the one that gets u the result that you want! What works better: Liquid or powder foundation?
    liquid
if you have dry skin use liquid. if you have oily skin use powder.
I have recently discovered mary kay's cream to powder foundation and love it !!!! it's way too expensive though!
A lot of people I know hate using liquid foundation so I found a better option --- tinted primer and powder over it.

try this... I've used it and absolutly love it

Smashbox makes amazing things happen! Also, try a mineral based powder... you can control the coverage better than anything else. Hope this helps!
both are good but LIQUID is better!
Try a mineral foundation. Even keeps my face clear of acne.
Liquid foundation is much better, I prefer using TrueMatch, you know, the one with Beyonce in the commercial, it's really light and doesn't cust up under the eyes.
Either works depending on your skin. If you have a faint redness and don't need severe cover up, I love love love Philosophy's Supernatural makeup. It's a silky powder that offers great natural coverage. It's not at all messy like Bare Essentials. It's got a sponge applicator and a little mirror right on the lid. It lasts forever, so it's definetly worth the price. It also has an SPF of 15. You can apply more as needed throughout the day without the worry of it looking cakey. I have red cheeks sometimes and this stuff does the trick!
How about a liquid to mineral foundation. Bee-Luscious Cosmetics has a Foundation that goes on like a liquid and almost immediately dries to a powder. It is the most innovative foundation I have used. You can find them on-line by doing a Yahoo or Google search. Good luck.
It really depends on the brand of foundation. Some powders are fuller coverage than others and some liquids are fuller coverage than others. By far the best foundation I have found so far is Laura Mercier's Oil Free Liquid Foundation(can get it in moisturising to). It is a pro foundation, so it lasts all day, looks awesome in photos and you don't need a lot for a good coverage, so it looks really natural. I use it all the time. A bottle last me personally over a year and I wear it on average 5 days a week. If you want a powder both MAC and Napoleon have beautiful light weight powders and Laura Mercier's you can use dry for light cover, or wet for full cover. Try a few, see what you like, but the best advice is go for a professional brand they are much higher quality.
you should use powder foundation it is lighter and it dosent go into your pours
Depends on ur skin type, oily or combo use powder and dry u should use liquid..Its always good to go to the makeup counter @ Clinque or Mac they can help u with whats best for ur skin and they can see u in person..It dosent cost anything and u can try the makeup before u buy it.
CoverGirl whipped TruBlend. Find a shade, and it works AMAZING! It's so lightweight, you can't feel it, and doesn't leave lines and blends in with your skin tone. I think the whipped/liquid works best. But it's great to get a powder or a mineral-shine to give your skin an easy, breezy, beautiful glow!
ACCTUALLY BOTH WORK GREAT TOGETHER AND WONDERS IF YOU WANT A SMOKEY EYE
I love powder foundation. I use Mineral GIrlz and it works wonders for my skin. I can barely tell that it is even on and it evens out my skin tone a lot.
liquid mineral makeup. research the brand you use though, some companies use 70% talc seeing as it only needs 30% minerals to be considered mineral make up. Sheer coverage is amazing, but they mainly just have powders.
I use a great powder foundation that is amazing. Its by Philosophy and its called Supernatural Airbrush foundation. I used Bare Escentuals but switched to this b/c it gives me better coverage and isn't shiny at all. It really does make my face look airbrushed. Its also really easy to apply b/c it has a sponge puff and the powder is dispensed right through it. It takes me about 30 seconds to put my foundation on. You can buy is at Sephora, QVC or philosophy.com. Its also pretty sheer and looks natural but it covers redness and minor imperfections. Very natural and pretty looking.
Liquid. Use Mary K, they make it out of all naturual stuff so it won't make you break out and it is oil free.
liquid works best for me - but my pores on my nose are bigger - feel like the powder just gets in their and looks fake.
I find that liquid works better, and its easier to work with. It'll cover up the uneveness in the skin too! I use CLINIQUE, myself.
Sounds like you need a liquid foundation. Try Maybalene or Loreal
    liquid is evil.

if you buy the wrong shade, you'll have an orange line going around your face, or you'll look like a pasty ghost.

i use loreal dream matte mousse and its so perfect.

and a powder compact helps too.
    Liquid works better

I have really faint red skin too and i use this stuff and it like clears acne and covers up at the same time

Is it better to use liquid or powder foundation in the summer?

On the back of your hand, mix a non- greasy moisuriser with a high SPF (at least 20) with some oil free liquid foundation. Apply it like you would foundation, INSTEAD OF YOUR MOISURISER. Hence you have tinted moisturiser. Use an oil free powder and a small sponge pad to dab some powder on your nose and any blemishes you have. Carry the powder with you all day for touch ups, use blotting papers at midday and make sure you wash off your makeup at night.

To finish the look, I know you didn't ask for this, but anyway:

Groom your eyebrows with a clear mascara and apply a thin coat of brown waterproof mascara to your top lashes. Add pawpaw ointment on your lips and you're good 2 go.Is it better to use liquid or powder foundation in the summer?
It depends on your skin type. I use liquid foundation all year long. It provides the coverage I need and it is a smooth lightweight formula. I use Mary Kay. It is great. It stays put all day, you don't sweat it off.

For most people though, they probably prefer the lighter coverage and feel of powder in the summer. That or bronzer. Is it better to use liquid or powder foundation in the summer?
In summer, up the SPF in your moisturizer and use powder foundation to keep from having makeup run down your face and cut down on shine and clogged pores (which lead to zits). In winter and cooler weather, liquid does better to cover dry skin, add a little color and even out cold wind roughed skin. You should still be using an SPF lotion underneath though. Gotta protect your skin from ugly wrinkles and age spots later on.
(my girl friends rub their knownlage off onto me..)

    ';liquid foundation is like yuck, NEVER USE IT GREG';
i think you have to wear both
Powder is good, but use it sparingly or it will clog your pores. Make sure to wash your face every night before you go to bed to get rid of sweat and dirt accumulated throughout the day.
I think powder is best all year round. But if you only wanted it for summer, that's good too. I've heard that if you sweat in the summer with liquid foundation, and you wipe some of the sweat off your face, the foundation will streak. I use powder all year round, and I REALLY liked how it stayed fresh in summer.
i use powder and liquid is sweaty haha
its better to use liquid. it good for giong out and using power just makes you look weird

Avon has wonderful foundations and powders that don't get cakey at all. They have an extended wear one for combination to oily skin that is what I have been using, Maigix is a primer that they have now that you can wear alone when your skin is clear and as smoother coverage under foundation too. Also a good one in the discount stores like Target or Walmart is Covergirl.

www.covergirl.comSwitching from mineral foundation to liquid foundation and Powder. Any Recommendations?
I have combination and acne prone skin. I used MAC foundation once and it made me breakout horribly. After a couple other foundations...I discovered Revlon Colorstay foundation and it is fantastic...no breakouts at all and covered up deep acne scars. If you decide to give this a try I recommend using it with a skunk brush (MAC 187 brush) it will give you an excellent airbrush look that's very natural appearing.
Girl...I am the same way. I LOVE Mac's studio tech foundation. It has maximum coverage and it makes you face look very ';sexy'; I face never looks cakey. Just Make sure you wear a primer if you have sensitive skin.

What kind of foundation is more healthy for skin: just powder, or liquid, or cream?

HEALTHY for skin it depends on what is in the makeup. Some liquid ones are good for you, even if u have oily skin, while some powders are bad and vice versa. There is so much makeup out nowadays with different forumulas that it makes it hard to answer such without complication.

However powder and cream is generally better for dryer skin and liquid for oily but then again there are so many different types you can find otherwise.

My skin is crazy oily and I use a powder though...but a certain type of mineral powder thats good for my skin and i dont need to reapply. What kind of foundation is more healthy for skin: just powder, or liquid, or cream?
How about a tinted moisturizer? im no expert on the subject but moisturizer is good for dry skin and surely something that also works as make-up would be better than just a normal make-up? and they always say cleanse, tone and moisturize before bed! So with doing it twice ur skin should be super soft :-)What kind of foundation is more healthy for skin: just powder, or liquid, or cream?
Powder is most healthy because it isnt as thick as liquid or cream, though the only issue with powder is that you'll have to re-apply it alot.

  • Can you mix Plaster of Paris powder with Liquid Rubber?

Will it make a rubbery but firm sort of mould? At what ratio should you mix?Can you mix Plaster of Paris powder with Liquid Rubber?
That would be like trying to mix chewing gum and pebbles- they won't mix but will just make a lumpy mess.

The liquid rubber will make a rubbery but firm mould, you just need to build it up to a thickness that works. If you want to keep it thin, then make the rubber mold then make a 2 or 3 part plaster mold over it that will hold the rubber stable while the modeling filling hardens. Can you mix Plaster of Paris powder with Liquid Rubber?
No, it will make a mess. If you want to add something to latex molding compound it needs to be neutral, like silica flour (which has its own risks) or glass fiber flocking. But liquid latex does a bad job of drying if thick, so it is normally painted on in layers. Because it is flexible, it is normally backed with a plaster layer to provide support.

I like Tide personally... especially with Downy. However, a more cost efficient detergent that works pretty well is Purex liquid detergent. They have various scents that smell pretty good. It does get your laundry clean and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. I would highly suggest that you do not use powder or an off brand. Powders leave a residue that can make your clothes look dingy or irritate the skin. Off brands are normally very diluted and do not work nearly as well. It is worth the few extra dollars if you want clean clothes.
    Tide
i personally love the scents of bold two in one but it depends on your style change the powder to suit your mood
    Almat biological... from ALDI
Don't use powder...bad for the washing machine. Tends to build up in the tub that holds the water and wears our shaft seals quickly. Also gives a bad smell after a few years. Also shortens the life of the machine.

    I use liquid Tide. :)

Laundry washing powder, laundry liquid, liquitabs, gel tablets, capsules ...?

Has anyone genuinely noticed a significant difference in the quality of their laundry cleaning as a result of switching to these newfangled formats?Laundry washing powder, laundry liquid, liquitabs, gel tablets, capsules ...?
just a gigantic example of spin and deception-its all the same-I get the mega cheap powder its fineLaundry washing powder, laundry liquid, liquitabs, gel tablets, capsules ...?
liquid laundry detergent is obscenely expensive now that they claim to have made it 2x more concentrated (Tide im talking to you!), but its still the exact same as regular liquid detergent. Ive gone back to using powder (which i hate because of the residue and it dulls my colours faster), but i have to use alot more. its to the point where for a full load of laundry i have to use 2 full scoops of tide, whereas a few years ago (3 years) i was using a half scoop and getting proper cleaning power. I love liquid though (if only it wasnt 18$ CND for regular size bottle.)
3 ni Mama I hear ya! I was using Tide to get rid of my baby's stains on her clothes and it works great. Now the price is atrocious! It was $15 a bottle when I first bought it, now it's $18 a bottle! It never lasts me the full 78 loads either. I go through it in one month! I never used powder because of the inconvenience and you have to use warm or hot water to get it to dissolve. I use liquid. I found that Gain is several dollars cheaper, works just as well, and smells great!

The liquitabs and gel tablets are just for added convenience of not having to measure out the liquid and you don't have to worry about spilling anything.

If your'e concerned about price, go with the powder or cheap liquid. If you 're not concerned and like the added convenience, go with the gel tabs or capsules.
I see no difference in the cleaning but the bold liquitabs leave your clothes smelling wonderful. I dont use them as they are far too expensive but my mother uses them. I just use the good old-fashioned powder - whatever is on offer when I am doing my shopping. I have also heard that liquid detergent isnt good for your machine but I dont know why this would be.
I have used All Clear Liquid for years because of my allergy. The new 2x I use two caps of liquid for the average load. If the items have stains I use three caps of liquid.

In order to make the detergent work more, I fill the tub half full of water, swift the water around in the tub before I add the clothes.

I agree with you, I do not believe that the new 2x is really two times stronger than the original one.
All it took was for my washing machine to leave wet detergent powder granules on my clothes for me to switch to liquid detergent--PERMANENTLY!!
Since swapping to liquid I noticed I don't have to clean out the powder tray any more! Not really better with the laundry but it makes my life one job easier!
No. But I still buy the biggest bottle of Tide liquid from Costco. It is expensive but it lasts about 2 months so I don't mind.

Acne Prone??? Then see what Kind of coverage you want/need. I like Medium coverage so I use Liquid foundation and then Powder.

If you want more of a sheer/NATURAL look then you'd use Mineral makeup and or a light weight Oil free foundation (If you have oily skin) and a Translucent Powder... If you have any more Questions feel free to email me:)

Remember Always always Apply makeup on a clean %26amp; MOISTURIZED face and when using Liquid foundation always ALWAYS set with some kind or form of powder.Should I wear foundation, and if so which type (liquid, powder, etc...)?
liquid is best because it soaks straight into your skin and last longer than powder. it wont rub off on your clothes and shouldn't need topping up. if you get the right colour then you will only need to apply it to the areas you want. if you go into boots they will match your skin colour to the foundation that best suits you.

i use MaXfactor Flawless Perfection it is split into two sections.

its great because it protects you from the sun (this helps the foundation to go on easier and more even) which is good as its coming up to summer
Ive been using Covergirl Liquid foundation for years...I love it, you can get it wit ooil control, or fragrance free too. Theres also a ton of shades to pick from, and it stays ';fresh'; for hours
If you want something expensive, get neither Physician's Formula or just any brand of mineral makeup from Wal Mart. I use Bare Minerals, which I find to be the best, but it is a little bit expensive.
Go to Wal-Mart and pick up some Physician's Formula loose powder. Or you could even try one of their bronzers. It's a great brand, it's good for your skin, and it still looks natural.

What is the best and economical industrial way to convert viscous liquid into powder form ?

It would depend on the substance but spray drying is probably the best. The liquid is sprayed as an aerosol and dried at the same time. This generally gives a nice fine powder.

Another way is to dry the liquid and then crush/ grind the solid into a powder.

  • How to make your own washing powder/Liquid?

I am after alternatives to store bought washing powder.

Any ideas/recipes would be greatly appreciated .

I have a front loader washing machine.

many thanksHow to make your own washing powder/Liquid?
i use this all the time

its quick and easy to make

    and very cheap

    1 quart Water (boiling)

    2 cups Bar soap (grated)

    2 cups Borax

    2 cups Washing Soda

oil to scent ( i use baby powder oil)

Add finely grated bar soap to the boiling water and stir until soap is melted. You can keep on low heat until soap is melted.

add the Borax and Washing Soda. Stir well until all is dissolved.

Add 2 gallons of water, stir until well mixed. Add scent

Cover pail and use 1/4 cup for each load of laundry. Stir the soap each time you use it (will gel).

i decant this into water bottles and store

this makes a white glossy gelHow to make your own washing powder/Liquid?
You could try Lux soap flakes, which come in a box, and need to be dissolved in hot water before adding to the machine. A little white vinegar in the rinse cycle makes a great fabric softener.

What kind of foundation is better for the natural look: liquid or powder

and any other tips for the natural look :] ?What kind of foundation is better for the natural look: liquid or powder
It depends on what type of skin you have, greasy or dry.

If you have dry skin, the liquid foundation does wonders for you.

If you have greasy skin, the powder foundation works for you.

Tips on having a natural look are not to pile it on, do as little as possible. Put on a little blush so your cheeks are ';glowing,'; along with foundation, mascara, and a bit of eyeliner. If you must have eye-shadow, make it a natural color like gold or brown. Good luck! What kind of foundation is better for the natural look: liquid or powder
I use liquid then a transparent mineral powder over it. I love the way it makes my face look, and it looks very natural. Try Revlon's foundation where you can like twist the top to get your correct color (the name escapes me at the moment) and go over that with Physician's Formula mineral powder

And there's another plus, neither Revlon nor Physician's Formula test on animals!

    EDIT::

If your face is dry, use a moisturizer first, this will make everything look much prettier. :]
I would say powder. With liquid (at least in my case) it tends to accentuate those little hairs that are invisible when not wearing makeup lol. When I wear mineral powder, it doesn't do that (or at least almost barely). It also doesn't look as though it's clogging my skin and doesn't FEEL like makeup. It also in my opinion is much more transfer resistant and works great for my oily skin.

If you get a sheer liquid however, you can most likely achieve the same results that powders can offer. Using an appropriate brush though is a big part of it!
tinted moisturizer or sheer pressed powder like:

    http://www.clinique.com/templates/produc…

    http://www.clinique.com/templates/produc…

i would also add a little mascara, blush, and liptint for a natural look

    hope i hlpd :]
Use liquid foundation first, I recommend Clarifying Makeup Clear Skin Formula:

    http://www.clinique.com/templates/produc…

It is foundation that gives oily skin a smooth, perfecting look. Helps skin stay blemish free - controlling oil, minimizing pores. A soft-matte, velvety finish keeps skin flawless-looking all day.

Then dust some powder over the semi-oily parts. Mostly in the T-Zone, Use Blended Face Powder and Brush:

    http://www.clinique.com/templates/produc…

It's loose, lightweight powder that's right for every type of skin. Sets and perfects makeup. Makes pores seem to disappear.

mineral powder its a bit more expensive than the normal powder but its much better for your skin. just look at the ingredients and if one of the first things is talc dont buy it. and also stay away from liquids.

    i suggest

    maybelline mineral power

and bare minerals if you want to spent that much money

    Artistry Self-Defining Sheer Foundation

Semi-matte finish stays fresh for up to 12 hours and minimizes the appearance of fine lines with light reflective technology.

Specially formulated with Artistry® Oxishield Solar™ Complex and SPF 15 and PA ++ UV Protection

    http://atolentino1.qbeautyzone.com/produ…

I've used both - together but the powder tended to make me look flaky. I liked the way the liquid went on, but sometimes I got too much in one place or another and it didn't blend well. Now I use a creme to powder foundation. It goes on creamy but doesn't stay ';wet';.
definitly powder! it blends in better and gives you a beautiful glow.

besides, if it's hot outside, the liquid runs down your face and that is not attractive and people can tell you're wearing makeup. the trick to putting make up on is to make it so no one can tell you're wearing it!

    hope it helped!
liquid foundation goes on a lot smoother, and can look completely flawless with the right brush.

    I use a stippling brush.

You can get them at the drugstore, or Sephora.
powder probably...the less coverage the better. For summer, try using a face lotion and loose powder. a little bronzer will help give you a natural glow too.
Liquid with powder to set it so you dont look shiny.

Definitely need a well moisturized face for either though. If it has to be one, go with liquid.
well i use bareminerals which seems like a powder but is actually liquid. it looks very natural and i highly reccomend it.
just experiment and see what you like better?different products look better on different people;maybe you can mix the two?
Powder is definitely better for the natural look.

how do you think of it ?

What form of foundation is best for combo/oily african american skin. (creme, liquid, or powder)?

I am prone to breakouts and most days I am oily but some days i am dry so what is a good foundation for my skin type. What form of foundation is best for combo/oily african american skin. (creme, liquid, or powder)?
I recommend you first consider your skin care routine - you may want to change your moisturizer (yes, even folks with oily skin should use a moisturizer). There are some oil-free mattifying solutions available. Murad has a decent (a little pricey, but it is very good) moisturizer as part of the Acne Solution line.

Creme foundations- they have a tendency to clog pores and to run/rub off. The only one that didn't do this for me was one of the 'whipped' foundations, but it tended to be drying in the drier spots of my face.

Some liquid/powder foundations work well, but again, it depends on your skin's reaction. I had some success with Neutrogena, but then it began to dry some areas of my face - mostly due to the medication in the foundation (it had salysilic acid in it, but it was a little too concentrated for my skin).

I've found mineral foundation to work better than regular powders. You may want to keep some blotting papers with you (you can usually find them at any drug store), for some spots that may get a little shiny. One thing many mineral brands have is a finishing powder. These often appear white, but are translucent when brushed on. This helps absorb oil and sets the makeup well, without adding more color.

I've tried a couple of different brands of mineral powders, it really is personal preference and what is budget-friendly for you, they generally work the same. The main thing is to find the correct shade(s) for you, and you will be fine.

Best of luck! What form of foundation is best for combo/oily african american skin. (creme, liquid, or powder)?
I use Mineral Indulgence Mineral Makeup for African American women. I also have combonation skin that gets worst during the summer. I went to a convention last year and got a sample of their mineral makeup in a gift bag. I have been hooked every since. I didnt see the powders on their website so I called customer service and they said that they are updating it with new shades. You can talk to customer service live on their website at Mineralindulgence.com. or get on their newsletter list so they can send you info on the makeup. http://mineralindulgence.com/ Good luck!

Girls-How many of you wear liquid foundation or powder?

I was wondering how many girls (in the age range of 15-19) wear liquid foundation or powder makeup to school.Girls-How many of you wear liquid foundation or powder?
I love to wear powder foundation. Plus, I don't get my hands/fingers dirty from applying the liquid foundation. Using a brush is much more easier for me! :]Girls-How many of you wear liquid foundation or powder?
17 and I wear mineral powder foundation. I find that it looks better on my skin and looks/feels a lot more natural. I can't even wear liquids anymore because it just feels so... foreign on my skin haha. And it lasts a lot better when I sweat (so if I go to work for a 4 hour shift and just run the whole time, when I go home I'm only shiny, but the foundation is still there).
Both and it looks natural :D

But if I'm just going to run to the store, I don't bother to wear any makeup, I don't look like a train wreck, I just like to enhance my features, but i dont have any reason to show off to the clerks at the grocery store ;)
i use liquid, the almay smart shade one, that is white, then matches your skin tone, because i dont need to cover-up anything, all i need to do is even out my skin-tone.

i hate the feeling of powder, i feel like my skin cant breath, weird, i know...

i do wear liquid foundation but i'm going to switch to powder very soon. i do wear makeup to school everyday and i don't leave home without makeup.
I know my sister uses airtouch foundation from SK-II as her first makeup. Its expensive though since its $150. I would know since I gave it as a gift to her. Its an actual battery operated foundation.
liquid in the winter, creme in the summer
    I wear liquid foundation.

Is it ok to use liquid concealer with powder foundation?

If yes, how do I put it on? Do i put on the concleaer on first or the foundation? Im 18 and a girly girl but I never wear makeup so this is my first time. Thanks for all advice! Is it ok to use liquid concealer with powder foundation?
Yeah i do it all the time.

I use mineral power from maybelline new york and it works so well and looks natural.

First i put on some under eye concealer.

Then i use a little triangular makeup sponge to put on my liquid makeup.

I then you a cotton pad or something to blend it and make sure i don't have any makeup lines or smudges.

Then i do my eye makeup and i put some white eye shadow under my eyes and at the crease if i have really bad bags under my eyes.

After i do all this i put on my powder and then blush and i again blend it cuz makeup lines look really bad.

This is just how i do it. It might sound complicated but it only takes me like 15 minutes.

And also i really recommend maybelline new york mineral power makeup.

I have really sensitive skin but this has never irritated it and i actually think it helps my face from breaking out and it makes my skin soft. It goes on well, is easy to blend, and looks very natural. I use their under eye concealer, liquid concealer, powder, and blush.

    Hope i helped :)

Sorry it was a little long lolIs it ok to use liquid concealer with powder foundation?
go very easy on the concealer, or you'll get noticeable spots with the powdered foundation. since it's liquid, it'll pick up the powder and hold it a lot better, so you can just dot and blend, and don't worry too much if you can see right through the concealer, as long as it's giving some moisture.
Put the concealer on first and thenthe powder foundation.

Acrylic Nail powder & liquid -- do they have to be the same brand?

Do the acrylic powder and liquid have to be the same brand? I still have liquid left but I want to try another brand of powder. Does it matter if they are from different brands?

Also, how do I clean my brush? I'm just a beginner and there's always a chunk of dried up acrylic stuff left on my brush and I end up having to get a new brush which is pretty expensive since I have to do that everytime. How do I clean the acrylic from the brush afterwards?Acrylic Nail powder %26amp; liquid -- do they have to be the same brand?
Acrylic nail powder and liquid do not absolutely have to be the same brand, however it is suggested. If you are going to mix and match you have to make sure that they are compatable BEFORE you try them on your clients. I recommend also using non-acid primer because it will help your adhesion as well, especially when mixing products. Please keep in mind, when manufacturers make their product they test them on their own products ( in other words they are designed to go together.Acrylic Nail powder %26amp; liquid -- do they have to be the same brand?

Depending what sort of coverage your looking for and how much you want to spend. I love MAC Liquid foundation for medium to full coverage i would say there studio fix fluid is the best comes with a huge range to match your skin tone and the artists there will help get your match a cheaper medium build-able coverage try l'oreal infailable. For light coverage MAC have a mineral foundation and maybeillne also have a nice one. Powder wise Mac have a nice range mineral and full coverage. the Maybeline have a really nice mineral powder. Do you know of a powder or liquid foundation that looks natural in sun light and white lighting?

a powder makeup is what I would like to use but if you don't know of one that looks natural then liquid foundation is fine. i just want one that looks NATURAL. I need it to even out my skin tone. something that is under 20$ would be nice. thanks.Do you know of a powder or liquid foundation that looks natural in sun light and white lighting?
if you feel that you dont look natural, maybe you have overdone it with your foundation.

try getting those foundation sponge(the flat, round one), spray on some facial toning mist or toner onto it and pat it onto your face. it would help to take off the excess foundations you have applied on and make your overall look more natural.Do you know of a powder or liquid foundation that looks natural in sun light and white lighting?
I live in sunny Florida...and what works best for me is an all-day hydrating make-up made by Cover Girl called CG SMOOTHERS. It gives a nice finish and stays in place for about eight hours without deteriorating. I have pale olive skin and use the 720. Most drug stores carry this as well as chains like K-Mart. Have fun!
idk my liqued foundation looks pretty natural in both... but if u put it on rong then it duznt look so natural in wite lite. anywayz..... its covergirl___liqued foundatio??? idk the specifis name but its Covergult fer sure!
I use Everyday Minerals. It's mineral makeup and it's much better than Bare Minerals. It's also cheap. You can get a free sample kit to find your shade, you just pay 3 bucks shipping. Full sized products are only like 12 dollars. The problem with liquid makeup is that it rarely looks like natural skin. Plus it feels heavy. If you find a mineral foundation that matches your skin tone, it won't show in natural light.
I would try bare minerals or another mineral foundation. It is $25 but lasts a long time and is worth every penny!

Have you ever used coffee whitener (liquid or powder) in recipes that required milk, so that you could have?

it for someone who is lactose intolerant?

What do you do differently, or add to it so that the product does not come out dry or flat?Have you ever used coffee whitener (liquid or powder) in recipes that required milk, so that you could have?
Another frivolous question about coffee with no grounds for being on this site. But then, those are some of the perks for being a top contributor. I often check in to see my friend Ophelia Bumps which makes me a topless contributor. What the heck is a coffee whitener? I don't drink coffee. Is this a feeble attempt to fool someone into thinking that there is cream in their coffee? I don't know beans about this, but I would be crushed in an instant if I knew it worked. Isn't Coffee Mate a non dairy product? My wife uses the product. The sight of people who are missing some of their metatarsals makes me ill. So, I guess I am lack toes intolerant.Have you ever used coffee whitener (liquid or powder) in recipes that required milk, so that you could have?
Actually, she is chatting over a Danish. The big German left with Ms. Kitty Litter. She is in the back room with a cough. She had a little Flem in her throat. Report Abuse

It would probably work. The coffee creamer has some of the sweetness, but a higher fat content than whole milk more like heavy whipping cream - thinking of coffee mate original. However, some creamers have very little fat, but boost the sugar content.

As mentioned above, Lactaid is 100% lactose free milk.

Also, you can try soy milk, rice milke or almond milk.

But some recipes you can try to substitute milk for simplier ingredients.

What are you making? How much milk?

Can the someone tolerate any lactose?
I've used it many times when I have run out of milk. It makes great dumplings using the Bisquik recipe. There are directions on the jar of Coffee Mate for making it into a liquid.

It is great in mashed potatoes, too. I might try it in pancakes next or over oarmeal. Just experiment!
That stuff is non-dairy...anyone with lactose intollerance should have no problem with it.

I only use it in coffee.
never tried it and I have no idea....sorry :)
no I haven't, just go get some silk brand or some lactaid I think the creamer would be horrible
I don't think powdered coffee creamer will work, because it's non-dairy. Lactose intolerant doesn't mean no milk, just no lactose. You can get lactose-free milk at the grocery store.
I have used it in mashed potatoes and boxed mac and cheese. It actually taste better to me. More creamier. I haven't tried it in anything else though.

I have fair skin with beige undertones, during the summer i get very, tan so then there is even less pinkness to my skin almost yellowish. I need a make up that will flex with my skin coloring. so i don't always have to buy a different shade after going to the beach (i tan through sunblock) thanks!I want a good powder or liquid mineral foundation, but my skin tone changes often?
You should try almay's smart shade makeup, it's very light and doesn't have much coverage but it stays on nicely. So unless you have bad skin problems or acne, this blends really well with skin and looks light and natural. It's liquid though so I apply with my fingers..

its advertised to match your skintone, read some reviews on it. works fine for me!I want a good powder or liquid mineral foundation, but my skin tone changes often?
If your skin tone change a lot during the summer, then it is best to have two different shades of foundation. There are so many mineral makeup company out there which offers different range of foundation colors with affordable price. Most companies offer sample size which you can choose 2-3 colors to try. So you can choose color that will match your skin tone on summer and winter.

What type of detergent for laundry is more effective - liquid or the powder...?

and then which brand works the best and smells good. What type of detergent for laundry is more effective - liquid or the powder...?
My experience has been that powders work better. And Tide seems to be the best - yes, I've tried less expensive brands, but have been disappointed.

    Liquids

All-purpose laundry detergents in liquid form are especially effective on food, greasy and oily soils. Since they are liquids, they are good for pre-treating spots and stains.

    Powders

All-purpose laundry detergents in powdered form are ideal for general washday loads. Especially effective on lifting out clay and ground-in dirt, thus ideal for children's play clothes. What type of detergent for laundry is more effective - liquid or the powder...?
I like liquid so that there's no clumps of detergent on the laundry when it's done washing. My favorites are Cheer for Darks and Woolite for Darks, both liquids.
Powder - when using cold water add the powder to the water first. Tide is the best brand. Don't buy based on how good it smells. I bought Gain because it smells good and ended up with a rash.
I like the liquid much better than powder reason being is the powder leaves white residue on dark and black clothing that shows up in the lights like at walmart and such. i use gain and all liquid either one is great but my favorite smell is gain joyous expressions in mango and it is so clean and smells good for days...
There are 2 places to get this answered. Check the manufacturers recommendation then talk to a repairman. A repairman will usually tell you liquid because powder has a tendency to get gummy within the machine and builds up after some time. They will also tell you that you can cut back a bit on the amount of soap the directions tell you to use. After all, they want you to keep buying their product don't they??
I mostly do cold water wash. The liquid detergents are better for cold water. There is no heavily soiled laundry , we change clothes daily, and they only need minimal 2-4 min agitation however I will sometimes rinse twice, since there are allergies to some detergents.
    Powered

Cheer for colors or Gain it usually on sale for 9.99 all brands 80 load box.

It great removing dirt %26amp; grease

    -------------------------------

Liquid - Is the same as almost all cleaning products like mr clean. If pour directly on into clothes by mistake you get blue spot on your clothes that wont come off. As compare power you put to much get white residue that comes off my fill a buck with cold water rinse out in bucket it comes off easily no extra money to spend.

You can also turn power base detergerents into liquid cleaner

Take - Clorox Magic - You got 2 litter pitcher scoop one full small into water and shake it up you get you a cleaning product that you can use on the stove to clean it up, kitchen counter tops and sink plus many other uses.
Liquid, it dissolves quicker and is not as messy. (Have you ever accidentally spilled powdered detergent? OMG, it goes everywhere!!)

I usually go with fairly cheap detergent and get the better fabric softeners; ultimately that's what your laundry is going to smell like.
I typically just use cold water anymore....to reduce my utility bills so I only use liquid detergent.

I have been using Purex for a few years. Usually I can find it for $4/100oz. That's a very good deal.

If I have a load of clothes that is particular odiferous (workout gear, etc.) I add 1/2 C. baking soda to the wash water.
liquid. Powder tends to not all dissolve every time and you have that powder on your clean clothes.
i love Tide liquid with downy..it smells absolutely great and fresh..

i dislike powder because sometimes it clumps and gets all over the clothes
I subscribe to consumer reports magazine. They say that the wal brand of powder is the best for your money.
liquids don't have to dissolve. they work better in cold water than powders.

Use what smells good to you!
