How long should you wait after putting liquid foundation on to apply powder?

I always put liquid foundation on. But when I go to apply powder I get foundation on it. How long should I wait? How long should you wait after putting liquid foundation on to apply powder?
First off make sure your moisturizer is dry before putting on foundation. Next put on the foundation, and do your eye makeup and then do the powder and blush. Or you can put powder on first, foundation, then powder again. (the first powder acts as a primer almost)

Also, dont swipe the powder on your face, rather press it on or use a powder brush. How long should you wait after putting liquid foundation on to apply powder?
if you put it on with a foundation brush instead of that free pad that they sell you with the powder it will go on perfect.
5 min
You should only use loose powder, not pressed powder.

If you do, you hardly need to wait at all. Just tap the powder down into your brush and apply to your face for a gorgeous matte finish.

Pressed powders use lots of clay and fillers to stay in the compact. Stay away from them except for emergencies.
I usually do my eyes then when i'm done with that, I can clean up any ';messes'; before the powder goes on. Plus that insures plenty of time!
how much make up do you wear that's alot? you wait 10 mins, your not ugly you just see what people tell you ,their jealous.
I usuallly do my liquid foundation, then eyes, then powder, but if you use a powder brush it should go on fine.
YOu will always get your foundationon the powder pad when you apply over liquid foundation. I suggest when the powder pad gets too soiled to replace it with a new one. They sell these in packages at any drugstore.
i use the liquid and right after use the powder. if you are using right amount of liquid you should not have to wait long.
1-2 minutes...make sure the liquid foundation is close to fully absorbed into the skin before applying the powder

Can you put powder bronzer over liquid foundation?

I have always used powder foundation,.. but now I need more coverage and want to switch to mac liquid foundation. This is probably a stupid question, but can you put powder bronzer over liquid foundation without it being streaky and all?? I live off bronzer and don't want to change my whole makeup routine. Also ..I feel like liquid foundation is going to be thick and cakey feeling?..Is it?... Whats your personal preference? Can you put powder bronzer over liquid foundation?
I use liquid foundation and bronzer. And yes I also do live off bronzer myself. Hahaha. No it should be fine, I've been doing it forever (years) and never had a problem. Just make sure you blend. And liquid foundation doesn't feel cakey to me.. just don't get a heavy one. If your sensitive to it get what is called a tinted moisturizer (light foundation) that will even out your skin tone. But I prefer liquid over powder I feel like it looks more natural. Hope this helps(:Can you put powder bronzer over liquid foundation?
Yes, you can apply powder bronzer over liquid foundation.

Liquid foundation works good if you have acne scars. If not, than I think powder foundation is quicker and easier to use. If you are trying to cover up acne, then I don't think either of them is going to do a good job on your face.

Point is, yes..you can apply bronzer over your liquid foundation.
no its not cakey and thick feeling if you get a good one, it is actually gonna let your skin breathe. i find that liquid foundation is better than powder foundation especially for more coverage. and no its not gonna streak i do it everyday and it doesn't mess up anything! i personally have acne scars and i use liquid foundation over powder. liquid foundation tends to last longer on the face to:) hope i helped!
Yes... I do it everyday! lol

Some liquid foundations do feel very cakey when applied, especially if you put on quite a bit. I use Smart Shade makeup from Almay. I think their foundation is amazing. I decided to give it a try, and the first few times I put it on, my face didn't look or feel like I was wearing any foundation, but it was still able to cover up all my imperfections I wanted to cover. I love it! They have concealers and other products to go along with it, which I haven't tried, but I'm sure they're just as amazing!
Yes you can and do not over do the foundation or it will feel cakey !
IDK WHAT EVER

If I use liquid concealer (the pen type), should I use liquid foundation or loose powder on top?

I have a few pimples and zits, and not too much un-evenness, but still needs to be covered. I don't want to cake on too much, but want coverage still. So after concealer, liquid foundation or loose powder? If I use liquid concealer (the pen type), should I use liquid foundation or loose powder on top?
Concealer, Foundation, and Powder all do Diff. things.

Concealer... does just that conceals the spots you want to hide.

Foundation... is also just that gives you a good clean even base to work from.

Powder... it just sets everything so oil is less likely to move things around.

I use all 3 and I don't get caky it depends on what products you use, How much your using... and just knowing how to apply the makeup correctly. If I use liquid concealer (the pen type), should I use liquid foundation or loose powder on top?
I think that the liquid kind looks like your face is melting and the powder kind looks like your face is dry so this is what I use

Worst liquid, powder, and mineral foundations you've ever tried?

Why did you like them?Worst liquid, powder, and mineral foundations you've ever tried?
The avon cream to powder foundation, just didn't feel right.

Now i use Botanics, a lot more natural.Worst liquid, powder, and mineral foundations you've ever tried?
the worst? cover girl tru blend

there old one was amazingg but they changed it from creamy to liquidy and like it sucks dont waste your money.
water, talcum and graphite. i can't build a house on any of them
Ughh cover girl tru blend. Horrible, i used to get it but they chnaged the formula and now it just sits on your face, never get it. Most covergirl products arent to great anyway.
Cover girl just sucks don't buy any of their stuff. It looks really cakey and fake and gross.

I like Physicians formula, Revlon, Neutrogena and L'oreal a lot better. They smooth on better and look a lot cleaner and more natural.

Rimmel is pretty good and cheap too. Just apply it right.

And I hate Clinique, that stuff is way overpriced and it isn't any better than Revlon.

Mary Kay is ok. But the makeup isn't that great for me. I like the microdermabrasion and the satin hands kits.

Cascade dishwasher detergent, liquid gel or powder?

Does one clean better than the other? Do you get more for your money with a certain type? We have always used the powder but wondering if we get more washes for our money that way or would we with the liquid gel or if there is really any difference.Cascade dishwasher detergent, liquid gel or powder?
I use the liquid Cascade complete I like the liquid better than powder just my preferance . I think the liquid dissolves betterCascade dishwasher detergent, liquid gel or powder?
I used Cascade gel packs . it has duel thing . powder and gel. and definently it cleaned much better than powder .
I use Sunlight. It's better than Cascade.
I like the Cascase power paks (gel packs) with dawn. To me we get more washes from a pouch or bucket than the liquid gel bottles and power. The paks have it all in one little pax, just drop in the dispenser and go.

  • Liquid foundation or powder? which is better and which look more natural?

liquid foundation or powder? which is better and which look more natural?Liquid foundation or powder? which is better and which look more natural?
Liquid fondation and powder both! First liquid then powder!Liquid foundation or powder? which is better and which look more natural?
I've found that using liquid and powder foundation together looks more natural than using either one by themselves, plus provides better coverage. I usually apply my liquid foundation with my fingers, then put powder foundation on top to set it. It sounds like a lot, but it feels like I have nothing on, and it lasts all day. :)
i prefer powder because liquid foundation can turn out blotchy and will be more obvious. if you don't apply liquid foundation properly it can look too dark or light. i say go with the powder, i reckon it looks heaps more natural :)
if you really want to cover something up, then use a bit of liquid foundation on the blemish, then apply powder foundation on the entire face lightyly, because it will look cake-y and fake.
Depends on the whether. It's better to use powder during hot summer since using liquid will melt. You can also apply very thin layer of liquid then powder, either way, I'd prefer powder.
Powder...especially if you live in a humid place, liquid foundation tend to melt in your face. the downside of powder is you have to retouch often.
Liquid I love the dewy look. but I wear mineral powders during summer.
powder... looks way more natural!!!! You can brush powder off where as liquid blotches and runs.
When i see people out town i would say liquid but make sure to blend in well.
    Powder, by far!

It looks very natural %26amp; keeps the sheen on your face, at bay!
powder because it wont leave major streaks across your face

Whats better for the face Liquid or Powder foundations?

I have oily/dry skin kinda ofWhats better for the face Liquid or Powder foundations?
The simple answer is if you want more sheer, natural-looking coverage go for a liquid and if you want more matte, concealing coverage go for a powder.

If you have oily skin wear powder because it will absorb the oil. If you have oily skin and you still want to use a liquid foundation, make sure it's oil free (like Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation or MAC Studio Fix).

If you have dry skin wear a liquid because it will add shine and luminosity to your skin and won't wear off.

If you have fine lines or wrinkles don't wear a powder because it gathers in the creases and will make you look older.

Hope this helps :)Whats better for the face Liquid or Powder foundations?
if you have any dryness, please do not use a powder! it settles in the flakiness and shows up as rougher, scratchy patches on your skin.

try and find an oil-control liquid.

    maybelline pure is one option

you can also try one of clinique's liquid foundations. on their website, look for foundations labeled with II, which is a complexion oily in the T-zone, and dry in the cheeks/eyes. some clinique choices:

    1. perfectly real make-up

    2. superbalanced make-up

    3. superfit make-up

    4. stay true make-up

    5. almost make-up

those are all good choices. i have the exact same skin type, and i'm looking at the superbalanced make-up.

    good luck!
I am a huge mineral makeup advocate. It is a powder, and some people don't like that, however just blend a squirt of your facial moisturizer with it for a great liquid foundation that's good for your skin! Traditional liquid foundations have all kinds of nasty ingredients and chemicals, plus most animal test which is just awful.

    I use http://Simply-Minerals.com

It is 100% all natural, chemical free, cruelty free, and vegan!

Liquid / Powder / Cream foundation: which is better?

I've tried all kinds of foundations and I do like liquid the best. What is your opinion and why--and what is your favorite brand?Liquid / Powder / Cream foundation: which is better?
    www.coastalscents.com

their mineral foundation is the best i've ever tried.

    it's good for your skin.

you can leave it on over night.

    it gives good coverage.

no other foundations have my colour apart from them.

it also gives me pretty much a flawless complexion.Liquid / Powder / Cream foundation: which is better?
Well it all depends on your skin type, wanted coverage, price, easiest for you %26amp; how long it lasts for.

But personally i use liquid, it does everything i want.

Powder all depends on how much you want to cover, it by itself doesn't cover those marks you might not want people to see, also most powders clog your pores. So that's why i use a very loose powder to set the liquid foundation.

Cream i felt i had to use a-lot to cover my face so i was caking it on. I didn't like how it set as well, but it's personal choice.

My favorite ';cheap'; brand would be Face Of Australia unless you live in another country than it would be Revlon or Maybelline. But the best would have to be Napoleon Perdis. Department store brands are expensive %26amp; do the same as every other foundation just with a brand name on it.
At the moment I'm using the Body Shop's liquid foundation..

I love it because its already got a bit of moisturiser, and a bit of sunscreen, so I don't really have to add much else.

Also my skin reacts badly to manyyy kinds of foundation so this one was an absolute winrar.

Oh, and the foundation brush = pricey.. but so very worth it!
I use both a liquid and a powder.

A liquid first, and then a verrrry thin layer of powder (I prefer MAC or SheerCover) to soak up any excess oil. My make-up has never looked caked on.. In fact, I'm always being told I have an amazing complexion (it's the make-up.. hah).

Btw - when you apply wet foundation, use a makeup brush with fake hair. REAL hair when applying powder. Or the little.. pad that comes with some dry foundations.
I use ';liquid to powder'; or mineral powder only. Liquid is horrible after you've used liquid to powder. So messy and uneven. Plus L2P (liquid to powder) is so easy to carry around and travel with. I use a light mineral veil powder for extra coverage or if it's really hot.

    xxx

I like Liquid - because you can get it in light to heavy coverage.. liquid to powder.. and they have the color matching ones too.. ALMAY and Covergirl do these.. They are Awesome!! Sometimes i use a little bit of loose powder, if i want a more matt look.. :)
I too prefer liquid. It is easier to control. You can put the amount you want on a cosmetic sponge and apply. Powders are kind of cakey. It also depends on your skin.

    Loreal is a good one.
I like Bare Minerals. I have oily skin and if I wear liquid it just feels more oily. Regular powder wears off to easy. The bare minerals stays, feels nice and is healthier for my skin.
Depends mostly on skin type and personal preference, I like cream foundation best cuz I have dry skin.
    liquid...Revlon Colourstay is completely amazing!
    Liquid, I like inflaulable.
    mineral foundation
bare minerals foundation. i looooooveeeeee it.

THEY ARE ALL SH1T! dont use any fundation, u look beautiful just the way u are. =]

Switching from liquid to powder formula?

i just switched my baby from liquid to powder formula and i think its making him very gassy. should i switch back or give it time? does it just take time to get used to? its the exact same kind of formula enfamil lipil.Switching from liquid to powder formula?
Powder will usually cause a little more gassiness than the pre-mixed although it should get better over the next few days. Try stirring it with a spoon instead of shaking it or mixing up larger batches ( in a formula pitcher) to keep the extra bubbles out to see if that helps. Some babies just prefer the pre-mixed even though they are basically the same.

Good luck! :) Switching from liquid to powder formula?
It really shouldn't give them too much of difference because it's basically the same thing, make sure you are mixing it correctly.

I would give it time though, a week or week and a half...keep mental notes of watery stools or constipation.

And always call their pediatrician and see what their opinion is about the situation.

Just give it some time, but to reduce the bubbles from shacking, try stirring it with a knife or fork, this helped my baby a lot! If it doesn't go away and you still want to use powder try enfimil genltease powder its for gassy or fussy babies. Best of luck!
when you shake it bubbles form. let it settle in the bottle a little before you give it to him. it could also be the bottles that you are using. i don't think liquid to powder would make a big difference if it is the exact same kind. good luck tho.
just give it some time, even though its the same formula its different on the babies stomach, they cant handle switching stuff like we can, so give it a few days and if it don't work switch him back to the liquid, good luck

Whats the best one for school pictures, powder or liquid?

What should i use? my skin is also really shiny!Whats the best one for school pictures, powder or liquid?
Liquid tends to melt easily, and your skin would look shiny and oily under the camera lights. Wearing both liquid under powder could look fake if applied incorrectly even a little, but wearing powder alone could make your skin look cakey and especially dry and flakey if you have combination skin.

I like swiping on a good brand of oil-free face moisturizer, after a through use of facial cleanser, and waiting a few minutes to absorb into your skin before evening patting on powder. This simple method brings out your healthy skin instead of covering it all up with liquid + powder.

This method might seem a little irrelevent to your powder/liquid question but the steps before poweder/liquid foundation actually have a big affect on the outcome of your skin!

    But whats most important?

Smile big, hun.Whats the best one for school pictures, powder or liquid?
powder cause the liquid can melt if you sweat
truthfully the more makeup you wear the worse it looks on camera the goal is to look natural (brighter lighting brings out more in the makeup) i would stick with powder...
    maybe powder

why use liquid if yo face is shiny

    huh
Powder because it makes your face look skinner.
    maybe powder
I use liquid to power from Clinique, a tad pricey, but worth every penny!
Use the liquid for good overall coverage, and then use the powder to control the shine. Don't overdo the blush and keep it off of the cheeks. Use eyeliner, lipliner and mascara, and a medium tone on your lips. Practice your smile until you can do it the same way on command. Have a great photo session!
You could try the liquid that dries to a powder finish so you get the benefits of both - use a wedge sponge your fingers are the worst tool, anything on them will go right on your face.
If your taking a picture and you have shiny skin try powder. If you use liquid and if you sweat ( not that you do) it will become really shiny. Trust me been there done that.
use liquid then seal it with a powder.

How can you turn liquid lidocaine into a powder form?

Is this possible? How can you turn liquid lidocaine into a powder form?
Lidocaine hydrochloride is a powder unless it is dissolved in water.

Depending on what the liquid form is, one may be able to evaporate the water and use the solid residue that remains. The other way is to ';free base'; the alkaline drug, extract it into an organic solvent, and precipitate it with gaseous hydrogen chloride. I don't recommend that unless you have some chemistry experience.

  • Environmentally speaking, which is better to use, liquid or powder laundry detergent?

Assuming that both types of packaging are recyclable....Environmentally speaking, which is better to use, liquid or powder laundry detergent?
Your best bet is to use a tiny bit of detergent and replace the rest with baking soda and vinegar.

Its amazing how fresh this will make your cloths. We used to only use detergent to wash our sons dirty cloth diapers and they began having a little smell to them even after washing. So we switched to a very small amount of detergent and about 1/2 cup vinegar and baking soda. the diapers smell really fresh and the vinegar kills all bacteria better than detergent.

try it an see.Environmentally speaking, which is better to use, liquid or powder laundry detergent?
With a liquid, you are using fuel to haul what is essentially water when compared to hauling powder. Use the most concentrated form of whichever you use, because the ounces you save in each package will add up to tons when accumulated over populations and over time.

I like the convenience of liquids, and I do buy some for spot treatments, but I use a powder whenever I can.
I have found powder detergent doesn't always dissolve in cold water. I land up re rinsing them. I use liquid and have no problem with it. I also have a septic system, it does not harm it in anyway. I would say liquid all around.
I tend to think that liquid laundry detergent is better because

you tend use alot of water when the powder detergent does

not always dissolved in the first wash.
neither are going to have any impact on the environment.

Use what works best for your water and machine.
    neither

Is there a liquid or powder product that will make my toilet flush more efficiently?

try 2000 flushes. Is there a liquid or powder product that will make my toilet flush more efficiently?
Not to diminish your Q, but efficiency begins in the tank, with the ';Guts'; of the process.

If there is a blockage issue or a slow/inefficient FLUSH issue, it's a relatively easy fix, without adding more pollutants to the environment.

Check the mechanisms to determine water level in the tank,,, being sufficient. Check that the FLAPPER, or other mechanism blocking the immediate drain opening, remains open long enough to actually allow the prescribed amount of water to accomplish a FULL FLUSH. If all that seems intact, decide that it might be blockage in the toilet itself,,,IE: the P trap type curving of the drain opening in the appliance, before it gets to the Drain opening.

    Hey Tommy;

I have not tried it yet...but I want to. Covergirl has some great makeup, they usually blend well.Has anyone tried that liquid powder foundation by covergirl it comes in a blue contact?
cover girl is my favorite.. in my opinion they are one of the best companies out there .. the reason is because they match my skin to the t . i have a compact foundation and i prefer it over mac..but yeah their makeup is really good and its water based..
I thought it worked ok... I don't use it regularly though because I have dry skin and even though it turns into a powder it still clings to my dry skin like a liquid and looks kind of funny with out a bunch of fussing. If you have perfect flawless skin, not only do I want to know your secret but you could easily be happy with this product.
i have the trueblend compact it is in a silver compact and i love it is is liquid and a powder mix i think it works great

Can i change my baby milk form powder to liquid any time?

The powder milk is up, can i change milk in one day just like that???Can i change my baby milk form powder to liquid any time?
It doesnt make a difference just make sure you make it right like mix the right amount of water and stuff and read the instructions on how long it stays good after making it and where to store it opened or closed. Its the same exact thing nothing will happen to your baby.just make the milk the way its supposed to be and congratsCan i change my baby milk form powder to liquid any time?
doesn't matter unless you change formula
yes but go ask your doctor to be on the safe side
Whether it's powder that you add water to or liquid shouldn't matter. Just make sure you get the concentration right.
    yes you can.
It's better to mix them so that the new taste to a fussy baby would not put it off the milk. If the first one is finished, there's not a lot you can do. Mix it right. Follow instructions given.
yes you can change it...i have 4 boys and my wife and I have done so..powderis great for traveling...
Yes you can as long as it is the same brand.

What type of foundation is best for covering acne? Matte mouse, powder, or liquid?

please don't tell me any brands, i just need help on which kind of foundation is best for acne.

    matte mouse

    powder

or liquid? What type of foundation is best for covering acne? Matte mouse, powder, or liquid?
i don't think putting liquid and powder on top will be such a good idea... because although it will work covering up the spots... it will make it worse by suffocating your skin and no air will get to it, i gets spots after i wear allot of makeup because when u sweat your pores open but cant breathe because of makeup, then dirt and sweat and makeup get into the pours... causing spots, id suggest you have a light mineral powder foundation, it has great coverage and its really light...

xWhat type of foundation is best for covering acne? Matte mouse, powder, or liquid?
don't use a liquid because no liquid is 100 percent healthy for skin, and it can also make your acne look oily.

i know someone that uses a matte mousse, and it isn't very skin friendly because it clogs pores.

your best bet would be to try a powder, most likely mineral, for your skin. it is the healthiest option, and if you don't want more acne, you should use powder.
I use a liquid, a apply with a clean foundation brushed (make sure that the edges are rounded)

I notice that powder makes me break out so I try to avoid it. Since powder helps make your skin look less oily, I use oil absorbing sheets as an alternative. (Clean %26amp; Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets work the best)

This type of makeup is specially for ance prone/oily skin. I use it and it works really good for me!

Liquid for sure it has more coverage

and then use some spot concealer

loose powder needs to go over your foundation-to set it and not let it fade and for more coverage.
dermablend is the best!!! bare minerals is good to believe it or not but the best coverage for acne or scars is dermablend trust me on this
Ive had the best luck with liquid and smear it in just right. Mine always vanish and sometimes if im lucky you cant even see the bump
Use oil absorbant liquid on the pimples only.
First liquid, then powder over top. Make sure both are oil-free and non-comedogenic.
Matte Mouse won't cover your acne and neither will power, liquid will work best for you!!
matte mousee and then powder to finish it off

I need to know what's the best cleaning product for the house plus laundry detergent liquid or powder?
I use 409 for cleaning bathroom (bleach if it's really bad). Lysol for the floors. Windex for my windows and glass. I use the cheapest brand name laundry detergent liquid. I have a german washing machine so I don't use powder. If it was american I'd use powder. There's another thing I use, I think it's called Old Maid, it's in a green canister and there's a woman on it looking like she's going to clean. I use that stuff for cleaning my bathtub. I like it and it lets you scrub the bathtub. Plus my family has used this cleanser forever.

Of course it all depends on your cleaning likes and dislikes.
Carol is right, Mr. Clean is good. I use Windex name brand, not generic, on the windows, Comet in the sink. I used to use liwuid Era in the laundry, now I use liquid from a mail order company. I use whatever is cheapest in the toilet, and I use generic dryer sheets. I used to use Downy fabric softener, now I have the special mail order kind, and I have used a generic softener, and it worked fine for my needs. I find 409 does a great job on tough stains, and Lime-away got the hard water ring off my bathtub and sink. I have generic dry bleach for the laundry, and I am going back to Name brand bleach, I think it works better.

The only thing I do not like is pine-scented products, it is just personal preference.
the cleaning product i use is this stuff called mean green....it is in a spray bottle and it has these mean eyes on it....or i use soft srcub....and for laundry i use spray n wash for stains and i use gain any scent. gain is the only one i don't have an allergic reaction to.
the best way to clean a shower is to use fume-free oven cleaner. it makes cleaning a snap!!!
';OxyClean';, or ';simple orange'; for the house.

I use liquid detergent and wash with normal cycle under cold water.

I've been using machine to wash bras for a long time and so far not a singel record of damage. To hand-wash bras %26gt; powder or liquid detergent?

Liquid detergent creates a better lather. I hand wash my bras, too, and I find that they keep their shape better than when I use the washing machine, even on the gentle/delicate cycle.

Is it bad to wear liquid foundation and powder foundation on top of it?

and how do you do your foundation with out making your face look dry - i dont have oily skin, just normalIs it bad to wear liquid foundation and powder foundation on top of it?
    Dont listen to these people!

Using a powder foundation over liquid foundation is the best way for a flawless look. It will also make your foundation stay on longer!

Just make sure you're using quality makeup that won't clog your pores.

Use an oil based foundation, like MAC Studio fix fluid, because this will help with the dryness-look!Is it bad to wear liquid foundation and powder foundation on top of it?
Using a powder on top of a liquid foundation just helps it stay in place longer. You don't necessarily have to use another foundation though, unless you really want to get full, full coverage. Translucent powder works well too if you just want to make your foundation look a little more natural. Good luck!
it's not exactly ';good'; to wear ANY kind of foundation. you have to make sure if you wear it that you wash it off every night (i use some clinique rinse off foaming cleanser).

i use liquid foundation with powder on top of it too. it doesn't seem to make my face look ';dry,'; though. i use l'oreal true blend for the liquid, and a powder by clinique.
well i personally do do it but not alot just a bit of the liquid like on my forhead n chin n cheekbones[just adot ofliquid foundation] even if it looks like a would do with a bit more but i don't apply more then i go over it with the powder so it won't look alot just to cover up..
Wearing any type of foundation usually isnt beneficial to skin, due to the fact that is prevents your skin from breathing.

But setting liquid foundation with a powder is normal.

Using a powder over liquid foundation helps the foundation to last longer.
It's bad for your skin to wear any kind of foundation, but just make sure you wash ALL of it off at night and you should be fine. Try Maybelline Dream Mouse foundations to give your skin a dewy look.
Actually, it makes your makeup stay on longer!

And try that mabelline mouse dream stuff, it's

    really neat!
no, but you probably shouldn't its just wasting make-up.
its bad if it makes your face look orange

or if it dries out your face(:
    use one or the other

Do you prefer liquid laundry detergent or powder?

Why?Do you prefer liquid laundry detergent or powder?
no contest. liquid dissolves %26amp; distributes better than powder, no powder residue on clothes %26amp; better for your machine, no build upDo you prefer liquid laundry detergent or powder?
Actually you have to wait until there's a certain amount of water in the machine before you put the powder detergent in because sometimes the detergent will create a ';bubble'; and not break throughout the whole cycle and you'll get dried powder on your clothes and have to rewash. It sucks when that happens. Just make sure to shake the cup it's in and evenly around the spinner.
I used to get Powder ,but because it left a Residue in the Drawer I changed to the Plastic Ball that you put directly into the Drum. Now because the Plastic is wasteful and wont break down, I have gone back to Powder although in Hard little Packets of two and not in The Box. I put it in the Dispenser Drawer and it does not leave Dregs behind. I have not used Liquid in Years.
i recently started to use liquid detergent because my new machine is cold fill only, the cold water dosen't dissolve powder properly until it is heated up,,,,,,. biological liquids work better at lower temperatures and because it dissolves immediatly its working from the start of the wash. my clothes are lovely and clean i wouldn't go back to powder now.

and also its the effectiveness and efficiency of the machine that cleans the clothes
I use Ariel powder for whites (I use a hot wash for whites so it dissolves) and liquid for coloureds (cooler washes). In UK powders made for whites contain bleach and using them in the machine prevents bad smells forming. Apparently only using liquids (which contain no bleach) causes build up of moulds etc.
I prefer the powder. Two reasons, powder is cheaper and with either one, you still have to let them mix before adding your clothes to the machine. If you do this, you will have no spots on your clothes. Liquids tend to collect onto one or two items and never washes out.
I prefer powder detergent. This is nothing more annoying adding liquid to wash and to find out that a blue spot appear on a sock from the blue color of liquid detergent.

I never had problem wih powder.
Liquid, because i'm too lazy to open a cardboard box, at least i'm honest.

I actually have boxes of powder form but i don't use them because of the reason i gave.
I prefer liquid because the powder form really isnt a powder. Its more coarse than powder and it takes longer for it to dissolve in the water than liquid does.

I feel like my clothes are cleaner with liquid.
Liquid. Repair person told me once that powder is a lot of cardboard and it builds up in the machine and causes malfunctions. Put the water in first and then add the liquid, then the clothes.
Liquid. Years ago a repairman told me most of his work came from the buildup of powder detergent. Haven't bought any since. . .
I am not fussy i use both it varies what the shop has.after all its the hot water that does the trick not the detergent .
We have a front load and have to use liquid because there's not enough water to dissolve powders properly....If I had my choice I would use powder...
liquid because powder makes me sneeze

What's the difference between powder laundry detergent and liquid?

there is really not much of a difference except the liquid is concentrated and the powder is cheaper. I use the powder tide. You have to let it dissolve in the running water before adding your clothes or you could get powder clunks. the liquid is more convenient.

According to the Martha Stewart website, ';Powdered detergents work best for hard water and for removing mud and clay. Liquid detergents are good for taking out grease, oily dirt, and stains, and work very well as a pretreatment.'; That's not just Martha's opinion -- we saw this assertion echoed all over the Internet. In addition, most say that powder works better in hot water. Powders are usually less expensive than liquids, but liquids are more popular with consumers, many of whom say liquids are not as messy. (Interestingly, powdered detergents are much more popular in Europe.) In comparison tests, we didn't notice much performance correlation between powdered and liquid detergents, however. A common complaint is that powder formulations can leave residue on clothing. For best results with both powder and liquid laundry detergent, manufacturers recommend that the washing machine be filled with water and detergent before clothes are added (this step might be more essential with powdered detergents). In short, most say it doesn't matter much whether you choose powdered or liquid detergent. According to Good Housekeeping magazine, however, one advantage of liquids is that you can use them to pre-treat stains. What's the difference between powder laundry detergent and liquid?
one is powder, and one is liquid. KIDDING. i find the powder doesn't always dissolve, so, in my opinion, it doesn't work as well. however, the powder is usually less expensive and lasts longer.

edit: holy crap, rachel -- i can't believe you had so much of an answer! HA. nice. What's the difference between powder laundry detergent and liquid?
some years ago, I had a repairman tell that the biggest part of his work came from buildup of detergent. So I've used liquid ever since. Don't know that there's any difference in how clean they get clothes.
    No there's no difference.

You want the powder to dissolve before you put your clothes in. So it becomes sort of like the liquid stuff anyway.

Is there a color copier out there that uses liquid ink instead of powder?

I find that the powder is very messy and hard to maintain. I'm also looking for a color copier and RIP device that outputs the best quality and takes more than 100lb paper. I know it's a lot of info but I need ideas. Thanks people! Is there a color copier out there that uses liquid ink instead of powder?
Printers based on lasers and photosensitive drums use ';toner'; (powder). Printers based on ink-jet technology use ink.

You can find all-in-one printer/fax/scanners that use an ink-jet to print. HP makes these as well as other vendors.

If you're just looking for high quality color printers, I would look at ';photo'; quality printers. Look at Canon even though there are other manufacturers.

For those who FF,which do you like better Powder or Liquid can?

Which do you find easier to handle?

The powdered canned formula. Or the liquid formula.

How many do you go through a week when your child was a newborn?

How much did you wind up paying after a month on it?

Do you find that generic works just as good?

For those who FF,which do you like better Powder or Liquid can?
I have always used the powder-Enfamil Lipil with Iron for all 3 of my boys. Right now I go through a little more then a can a week (my son is 5 months) I don't remember how much he went through as a newborn-when he was first born, we bought the ready to feed bottles. All you have to do is shake and attach a nipple and they're ready to go, so those were really easy. We bought them online Enfamil.com

The powdered formula is about $13 a can, so it is almost $60 a month for it. You should find out if you will qualify for WIC.

I haven't used the generic, but a friend of ours did. They used the walmart one and had no problems with it at all.

You are setting up your induction tomorrow, right? Good luck! For those who FF,which do you like better Powder or Liquid can?
Personally the powdered is much more convienent. Yes you have to shake each bottle but you aren't going through the drama of heating the bottle up and listening to baby crying while waiting for the water to get hot enough to heat the liquid formula. Also great since all I had to do is pack an empty bottle or two and the can of formula instead of worrying about keeping it cold and finding somewhere to heat up the bottle when baby got hungry while I was out and about.

I can't tell you at newborn how much my son was eating he had some rather severe allergies and at that point I was trying to breastfeed. He couldn't do that. When I put him on formula I'm pretty sure we went through much more then ';normal'; since he was puking up feedings so he would get another bottle since he would empty his stomach.

He was on neutramigen so sadly no such thing as generic formula for that. It was $25 a can and at about 4 months old he was easily going through 2-3 cans a week.

Just an FYI on generics. When it's a generic for a standard soy of cow based formula they are all pretty much the same thing nutrition wise. They will taste and smell different based on what the company adds to it. The base nutrition like protein, vitamins, minerals and calories per ounce will be the same since they all have to meet the same federal guidelines. It will depend on what your baby likes and tolerates well more then what brand.

I found that allimentum is the same as neutramigen just made by a different company, my son would not drink it at all. He would refuse it if I tried.
I'm not gonna lie, formula is really expensive, i use the powder. A 12.9(ish)ounce can of similac is about 14 dollars. A good size can of Enfamil is 25. When they are newborn a big can can last you a week or two. When my daughter was a newborn i pumped the milk for her and gave up because it was too much of a hassle and it owned my life. Now that she is on powder formula she eats 6-7 4ounce bottles a day. A little can of similac will last me a few days.

She started off on enfamil with lipil before her daddy left and now that hes gone i had to go on wic because i couldnt afford the formula. She had no problems switching over to similac advance , shes still as gassy as she was on enfamil. If you are afraid that you wont be able to afford the formula try contacting your local WIC center. Theres no shame in it at all, i know a lot of people on it.
When my daughter was newborn she was on Enfamil A+, the liquid kind.

We bought 3 cases a month (12 cans in each case). At about $40.00 each. So about $120.00 on formula a month.

2 cans a day. I had to make 2 batches of formula a day, once in the morning, and once before i went to bed, so when she woke up for her feedings, i knew i had enough. Once or twice i had to make formula at 3 am, it wasnt fun, so i always made sure there was formula made.

When my daughter turned 6 months old, i switched her formula to a little cheaper one, it was only $20.00 a case.
I liked the ready to serve liquid (not the concentrate) at first because its simple, pour and feed. One bottle lasts 3 days max after open which is about how much my daughter ate. Honestly its just too expensive and a huge hassle when you want to leave the house. Unless you have the ready to serve bottle which come in 2 ounce and 8 ounce. Still, way too expensive.

I switched to powder so I could leave the house when I ran out of the 2 ounce bottles the hospital sent us home with. It costs about $15 for a 12.9 ounce can and should last about a week for a newborn. I use similac advance and my daughter is growing like a weed with no problems as far as her formula goes.

I don't know if the generic is just as good, it might be if you start it from day 1. Everyone that I know that has switched to a generic has switched back quickly because their babies didn't do so well.

    **edit

Breastfeeding might help you get your body back but I had my daughter 11 weeks ago and I'm only 1 size above my pre-pregnancy weight already and I formula feed. Its called not sitting on your @ss all day lol. I've seen more then plenty of breastfeeding women or women who did breastfeed that are tubs of lard.
Definitely powder. We tried the liquid and my son vomited it everywhere. It's also hard to get the stains out of clothing.

When he was a newborn we were going through about a can and a half a week. Now he's 6 and a half months and two cans usually last us two weeks.

We've been using the Parent's Choice formula and it works wonderfully. He was on Similac Advance at first but it gave him stomach aches and he just didn't do well on it. The PC brand is only around $12/can for a big can so we spend about $50/month on formula.
I find the liquid concentrate easiest, but it is a lot more expensive. I use enfamil powder. In the morning, I make up a days worth and stick it in the fridge. My daughter has no issues drinking it cold. It is easier that mixing as you go. The powder is easier if you are on the go running errands or whatever. I keep a clean bottle, a ziploc bag with formula and a bottle of water in the diaper bag.
We went through about 2 cans a week when she was a newborn, the smaller Enfamil cans. We use lacto-free as it's best on the baby's tummy. Because we qualify for WIC, they actually pay for the formula, so we've never had to try the generic. But I would try to make sure it's a lactose-free or low-lactose type.

I remember, when we first did WIC, we got all the cans that they had assigned us (I think it was 6) and it came to something like $80 for the month. And she went through it. o_O So, it's a major expense. I wish I could have breastfed her more, so many more benefits.

And we do use powder. It's easier to make it warm and that's how she likes it.
i use SMA formula, and a can of powder lasts about 6 - 7 days. Reece is 6 1/2 mos, he will have around 4 9oz bottles per day. we have some cartons of liquid, for emergencies when we are out and about! when he was a newborn, the powder lasted a bit longer.

ETA she didn't ask about breast feeding. oh and a can cost me around £7.50, sometimes you can get offers 2 for £12... i love those offers :P
my grand baby is 22 mo's old now but in the day we definitely liked the powder and so did little lily ,we did use both the liquid when we were going out.then always the powder. when at home and its a lot cheaper and we had no problems with her drinking either one, but she, from day one sleep all night long from say 6 pm to 7 am everyday and she still goes to bed at 6:30 and sleeps all night until about 6;30 or 7:00 we have been very luck raisen this grand baby and we would like to say her mother is not married and kept her we just baby sit for her she is a full time woking mom at the local hospital she draws blood ther and is going to college everynight of the week she's working to be a registered nurse good luck wit hyour little one and god bless you don
The powder formula has worked better for us. A can usually lasts my daughter almost a week...we're usually opening up a new can towards the very end of the week. We use the Target brand and have had zero problems with it and it is so much cheaper...$11.95 a can compared to $25 a can for Similac!
We just use powdered. Never tried the liquid. I THINK we used about 1 1/2 to 2 cans a week. Enfimil Gentelease is $25. I never tried the generic brands. But only because I was going by what the doc suggested we use for him. He just never suggested generic.
my mom had wic so all the formula was free...

but i think the liquid would be easier to handle cuz its already mixed but it doesnt last very long..the powder isnt that hard to make and it lasts longer..and its cheaper.

i would go to diapers.com and order it in a bulk amount.
Or you going to try and breastfeed first? I have nothing against formula feeding.. as I did it with my daughter after she was 1 1/2 months old... I perferred the powder in the can.. it is about $25 a Can depending on the brand.. and not that I am against generic..but they upset my daughters tummy. and I would say that I was buying like 5 or six a month.. so thats $100-$125 a month.. but I could be wrong cause its been almost three years.. since I was buying it.. Good luck..

and I would at least try and breastfeed for at least a couple months because than the baby will get all the antibodies and such that are benefits of breastfeeding, and it will help your get your post baby body back better.. Just some ideas!

I do not know why I got a bunch of thumbs down... I was not being rude and telling her what to do, I was just suggesting trying breastfeeding first... geeze.. people are so judgmental..either side of the whole breastfeeding/formula feeding sides..

  • Can you make homemade face powder with liquid fundation?

i heard you can make homemade face powder with cornstarch and all that.. but cant you make it with liquid foundation that you don't need and other stuff?

if you cant do that are there any substitutes fro cornstarch...lol..dont have any!Can you make homemade face powder with liquid fundation?
do you really want to put cornstarch on your face? it would be better to just spend a little money and buy a nice foundation that won't clog up your pores and break you out.Can you make homemade face powder with liquid fundation?
you could maybe try but I don't think you will be able to make a powder from an oil based foundation.....

Is it ok to use the same brush for liquid foundation and powder?

My mom bought me a really expensive liquid foundation brush and i never wear liquid foundation and powder at the same time but i kinda started to....so i was wondering if it is okay to use the brush for both? will it damage my brush or is it just not good mixing it? thank you =]Is it ok to use the same brush for liquid foundation and powder?
you shoulbn't use a liquid foundation brush for powder. you will look streaky when you put it on. you need a powder brush they're like puffy. Is it ok to use the same brush for liquid foundation and powder?
its best not to use the same brush cause it will clog it up cause the powder will stick to the liquid. if you really wanted to you could do it, but you would have to put liquid on then powder and then wash your brush every day
well considering they are two very different brushes....

A liquid foundation brush is much smaller and more tightly formed into a flat smooth brush shape while a powder brush is big full and fluffly
I was going to say nah before i read the details of your question.

But if you never wear liquid foundation it should be fine, but expect some difficulties applying. Powder brushes are circular and poofy, and liquid brushes are thin with concentrated bristles.
you can but i dont recommend it.

the brush will get really cakey and icky really fast.

unless you want to clean it out alot:)

    hope this helpes hun!

but yea i wouldnt it might make your makeup look a little weird and patchy too.:/
Your brush might get a little chunky from the buildup of the powder and the liquid foundation mixing it up. I would suggest using a separates brush for your powder, but if you like using the expensive brush for both or if it workds for you then just remember to wash it every week.

What is the difference between Sodium Hydroxide (Lye) liquid and Sodium Hydroxide powder, flakes, beads, etc?

Besides one being wet and the other dry? What is the difference between Sodium Hydroxide (Lye) liquid and Sodium Hydroxide powder, flakes, beads, etc?
Lye is an old trade name for a solution of sodium hydroxide. Usually these solutions are quite concentarted - about 50% caustic.

The alternative is to buy sodium hydroxide as a flake or bead. In industry it is preferred to get the caustic soda as a 50% lye because it saves a lot of on site dissolving.

If the bottle says: 0.2N this is telling you that the concentration is 0.2Normal. This is a technical term used in chemistry to describe the concentration. A solution that is 0.2N would be 8g NaOH per litre of solution - hardly a concentrated lye solution. What is the difference between Sodium Hydroxide (Lye) liquid and Sodium Hydroxide powder, flakes, beads, etc?
That is the only difference without further information. One is a water solution, the other the solid form. The solution could be very concentrated (50%) or very dilute (%26lt;1%).
liquid shows basic behavior while in solid state they don't

Which is better? Washing powder or liquid detergent?

Liquid detergent is soooo heavy and I just don't understand why people use that? There are way more liquid detergent available in grocery store than washing powder. Is liquid detergent really better than washing powder?Which is better? Washing powder or liquid detergent?
I used to do a lot of heavy duty washing of my field uniforms when I was in the army and in my opinion I've always found liquid detergent to be far better and to leave no residue at all on my uniforms. Not all machines are ';state of the art'; and not everyone has soft water so liquids can give a better cleaning especially if you have hard water (use baking soda in the wash to soften it) or an older machine that might not agitate as well.

Personally I don't find liquid detergent heavy unless I buy the huge Sam's Club 2.34 gallon container which I put on it's side on the shelf above my washing machine so I don't have to lift it each time I do a load.Which is better? Washing powder or liquid detergent?
you want a professional opinion, I work for a mfr. that makes these products. always use liquid, don't use powdered soaps, there is ground up fillers in powdered soaps, such as, Styrofoam and peanut shells, never have figured out why? used as abrasives to supposedly help clean them, so in my opinion, only use liquids, also, the amount of lint in your dryer will decrease, the lint is actually your clothes, soaps break down the fibers in them, thus creating lint
in my opinion, liquid deterget is a better choice as the dissolution of detergent is easy in water....and now a days, more number of people have started using liquid detergents...that's y, wide range is available in market....my hubby is a textile engineer....and he always prefers a liquid detergent...
Liquid defantly it disolves quicker and dont leave the soap resadue on clothes...
i think liquid detergent, bcuz washing powder makes me itch.

What is the best powder or liquid foundation?

As a professional Makeup Artist I would have the say that MAC Studio Fix is the best powder to cover everything and still look natural. Studio Fix is a powder and foundation in one that combines good coverage with ease of application. Designed to be used dry, the powder and pigments create a matte, velvety texture. It contains Silica, which helps to maintain a matte finish by absorbing oils on the skin, as well as Talc to provide a smoother, less reflective, matte finish. The talc has been milled to a microscopic size to provide a beautiful texture while allowing the skin to breathe. This product is long-wearing. It is available in a wide range of colours. It can be applied with a brush, sponge, or a powder puff.

    AVON ANSWERS!

Avon matches 98% of skin tones.

    Some advice:

Oily Skin - go for powder

Dry Skin - opt for cream

I have tried about all of the foundation offered by AVON them, currently using both The Dewy Souffle Foundation and I love it. I use a sponge to apply it. I love how it makes my skin look. It's one of my favorite Avon products so far. I also have been using the new Smooth Mineral Makeup, gives full coverage of a creamy foundations, featherlight comfort of a silky soft powder. Good for all skin types. it is free of talc, oil and fragrance, it looks and feels unlike any other makeup I have tried.

AVON is 100% guarantee, you can purchase in the convenience of your own home with direct ship on-line (youravon.com/sweaver)
Depends on your definition of ';best';.

Best price? probably drug store varieties.

Best quality? Once again depends on what you're looking for. If you are concerned about the chemicals and fillers most makeup companies use, I would recommend ARbonne. Their products are all botanically based. Formulated in Switzerland, made in the USA.

I use their mineral powder foundation. It's light and airy and has light reflecting quality to it. And it's not full of fillers like Avon's is.

i normally use anthing thats oil free it cuts back on breaking out causes there is already enough oils in the skin you don't need more being add by your make up i've found make up from neutrogina works really well.
I have used so so so many different ones and I finally found my favorite when my boyfriends mom started selling Mary Kay. The medium coverage foundation and the face powder over it gives me a flawless complexion. This is her website and it has her contact info on it.

I use bare minerals, it works with out breaking out!
If you don't have dried up skin, I recommend TruBlend by Cover Girl. Why I say only if you don't have dry skin is because, when you have peeling, dry skin, the true blend just looks horrible. But otherwise it covers acne great and it actually made my acne decrease a bit.

  • Powder or Liquid laundry detergent?

Why? Powder or Liquid laundry detergent?
Liquid because powders are terrible on septic systems, and even if you don't have a septic system powders are so hard on your pipes and on the cities treatment plant because no matter how much water you add to a powder it never dissolves completely. Powder or Liquid laundry detergent?
The powder and liquid work just the same. I use the Method brand detergent at Target that is liquid with the fabric softener and it cleans the clothes super clean. It is very gentle on the clothes and give it a natural nice smell.
Liquid detergent is just powdered detergent with water added. Why pay extra for water that you can add later at home? Why carry home soap with water added? It's better to just use powdered soap and add the water yourself.
I prefer liquid. Depending on the hardness and temperature of your water, powder may not dissolve completely leaving you with powdery, itchy clothes!
Liquid. Powder detergent can build up over time and build up a crust on various components of your washing machine.
Myself I prefer liquid as for as why really don't have a really snappy good answer for that one.

    because they both clean well.
Liquid if you use cold water, powder is OK for warm water but too bulky to keep around.
    Liquid....ALL Free %26amp; Clear :)

    Powder detergents are too messy
liquid. less messy. no white powder soap stains on my clothes.
Liquid. Not sure really, in my head it just seems to get things cleaner.
Liquid. Don't have to wait for it to dissolve.

Bare Minerals is Perfecccttt!!! It is amazing...it covers up and leaves your skin flawless and it is light...I know it is not MAC but it is better...its is pricey its 25 dollars but it well worth it and it lasts a long time!!

What's the difference between a powder foundation & a liquid one?

%26amp; how do I know which 1 is right for me? Or do I need both? What's the difference between a powder foundation %26amp; a liquid one?
    It depends on preference.

Some do not like the feel of liquids, and others do not like the feel of powders.

    It also depends on coverage.

Liquids tend to offer more coverage, but powders can offer excellent coverage as well.

Neither is ';right';. Just choose according to preference.

It also depends on skin type. Some people with oily skin tend to find liquids are too difficult to work with, while girls with dry skin work well with liquids.

So go to a store, and try some out. Buy things and if you like them, keep them. If you don't, return them (be sure to ask about the return policy first)

If you wear liquid foundation, it's best to set it with a loose powder (not powder foundation. A setting powder.) and if you are wearing powder foundation, you do not need to set it.What's the difference between a powder foundation %26amp; a liquid one?
Powder foundation is essentially made from loose particles. Liquid foundation is a liquid formula. Some people may say that powder foundation doesn't have as much coverage as liquid, but that isn't true. If you find a good brand of powder foundation, you could get the exact same coverage as a liquid foundation.

Powder foundation is lightweight, and it doesn't clog your pores like most liquid foundations can. Liquid foundation does have more coverage most of the time, but like I said, powder can cover imperfections just as easily. Liquid foundation is good for masking pimples or discoloration on the skin. Powder foundation is good for those hot days when liquid foundation would melt off your skin.

You have to decide what you like. If you go with powder foundation, you should get the shade that matches your skin tone and then a translucent powder to set the foundation. If you go with liquid foundation, you'll still need a translucent powder to set the foundation, just like powder.

    Hope I helped.
powder is powder and liquid is liquid....I use the powder foundation. One reason is because I have less breakouts with that. It does not clog your pores like liquid foundation. The next reason is because when it is really hot, your makeup does not clump up on your face leaving it looking oily like the liquid foundation. and you can use concealer to cover up blemishes on your face. You do not need both.
A powder foundation has less coverage than a liquid foundation. A liquid foundation is better for covering pimples and freckles. you don't need both foundations but if you want more coverage I would definitely recommend the liquid foundation
There are a variety of powder and liquid foundations.

Your skin type will determine which foundation is best for you. If you have dry skin, opt for a liquid foundation and set it with a light powder. The powder will keep the product from wearing off during the day.

If you have oily skin, you can use either a liquid or cream foundation intended for oily skin, or a powder. A powder will help soak up excess oil, which can definitely be helpful to oily skin.

You definitely don't need both types of foundation, just determine which is right for you by your skin type.
Liquid foundation generally provides more coverage. You don't need ';powder foundation'; too but you should use some type of translucent powder to set your liquid foundation so it stays in place and stays on longer.
Your question is actually the answer.

A powder one is made of Powder and it will change the colors of your face.

A liquid is a liquid but also could be a rub-in substance is better if you have acne or want to remove blemishes. usually you would apply the liquid one first and the powder one next.

Is it ok to use the same brush for liquid foundation and powder?

My mom bought me a really expensive liquid foundation brush and i never wear liquid foundation and powder at the same time but i kinda started to....so i was wondering if it is okay to use the brush for both? will it damage my brush or is it just not good mixing it? thank you =]Is it ok to use the same brush for liquid foundation and powder?
why did you post this in a religion %26amp;spirituality page?Is it ok to use the same brush for liquid foundation and powder?
it will gunk up the brush and the powder won't go on as well
you mean :is it kosher to use the same...? no?

Whats the difference between powder foundation and liquid? Whats better?

I use powder right now, but im to scared to try liquid thinking it might be to thick/expensive/fake lookingWhats the difference between powder foundation and liquid? Whats better?
liquid and powder are different types of foundation for different types of skin

for example, if you have oily skin, liquid probably won't work well for you because it'll melt right off as your face gets oilier thruout the day. powder is better for oily skin because it absorbs it and makes your face look a little more matte

i have dry/combination skin, so i use a liquid, which needs to be set with a powder. some types are thicker than others, some types are super smooth. lemme know if you need instuctions on how to apply liquid flawlessly

if you want something super quick and easy, don't forget about a tinted moiturizer which gives light coverageWhats the difference between powder foundation and liquid? Whats better?
Powder foundation will give you a matte look (best for oily skin), while liquid foundation will give you a dewy look (best for dry skin).

Powders usually provide heavier coverage than liquid does.

If you're afraid of a thick or ';fake'; look, try a tinted moisturizer. Revlon Age Defying Light Makeup is a great choice, and it's inexpensive.

Don't be afraid to experiment and try new products, that's the best way to find what's perfect for YOUR skin. Hope this helps :)
liquid is better if you want more coverage (if you have scars blemishes and other stuff) and powder is a lighter coverage and it doenst feel like you are wearing makeup but some powders do have good coverage.

i like liquid best because i do have blemishes : ] if you do go with liquid dont use alot and make sure its your color cause i notice alot of girls whose foundation doenst match and it lasts a good amount of time
i think both of them stink to be honest...both always looked cakey, or didnt cover well, and broke out my skin. i started using Dinair Airbrush Makeup 2 years ago and its awesome because its all water based so its natural looking, super light weight, and its not bad for ur skin. It stays on all day. It makes my skin look flawless. Anywho if u goggle Dinair you'll find their site. Hope i helped answer ur question.
well sometimes liquid can clog pores and cause acne. i use powder because it looks smoothe and natural. but my sister uses liquid and i kinda looks cakey and she breaksout a lot and i dont. and she is 6 years older than me.
Powder is better. It goes on smoothly and it doesn't leave a mask on your face. Liquids smell weird and feel cakey on your skin. The best powder foundation that i would recommend is Bare Naturale by Loreal Paris. It's great.

    :)
i actually use both but i think liquid is better

and i dont think it looks fake or thick

What kind of foundation looks most NATURAL on skin?(powder, liquid mousse, etc)?

i do have some spots and uneven skin tone on my face. I want to buy a foundation that looks evenly blended and natural. PLEASE help me...it turns out that i have been wearing a wrong foundation for sooooo long. so please help :(

I am 15 years old. What kind of foundation looks most NATURAL on skin?(powder, liquid mousse, etc)?
my favorite foundation is Bare Minerals. Its a powder and it is all natural, so it is good for the skinWhat kind of foundation looks most NATURAL on skin?(powder, liquid mousse, etc)?
bare minerals me and my mom use aand we look like we dont where any make up!!!!

    it is so awesome
i would say that power looks the most natural.

i don't usually use foundation, because i have rlly good skin,

but if i do it's Loreal powder. It really blends in good,

%26amp;%26amp; doesn't make my skin dry.
Your only 15 you probably dont need much of anything, I prefer mousse type of foudation because its even but light.
Try the true blend...the one that jessica alba promotes.
    Tru blend from cover girl!

    It's light and very natural
at fifteen you do not need foundation or any other make up
For uneven skin tone you might want to put concealer first, then use powder foundation ( i suggest you bare escentuals ) or liquid foundation (mac studio mist or mineralize satin skinfinish). If you want the result to be really good use brush not your finger.

Last step use loose powder,it's better than compact powder cause if you have like acne marks or big pores loose powder will cover it better.

    Hope this help
First of all, it's crucial that you use a good brush.

A good foundation brush costs at least 30 dollars. An excellent foundation brush is the MAC 187 -

    http://www.maccosmetics.com/templates/pr鈥?/a>

Believe me, it's worth the investment. You will not get the even, blended, natural look you want without a high-quality brush!!

I use Kiehl's tinted moisturizer, it doesn't cause me to break out like a lot of other foundations do, and it has a good amount of coverage - heavier than the average TM, like a normal liquid foundation. If you don't have a Nordstrom in your area (therefore no Kiehls :[) MAC has really good liquid foundations. Their Studio Fix is quite popular.

Make sure when wearing ANY foundation that you wear a plain face moisturizer under it, because it will dry your skin out and possibly cause breakouts. I use a moisturizer under my TM which is also a good idea.
    liquid
    sheer cover or liquid
    a loose powder
I have tried them ALLLLL and nothing can compare with Bee Luscious Cosmetics. If you truly want an awesome long lasting foundation that is light and airy yet totally flawless then its bee luscious.
    u can use this

    http://beauty.about.com/od/foundationsco鈥?/a>

    or this

    http://www.realsimple.com/realsimple/gal鈥?/a>
    bare minerals
bare minerals... it's expensive tho., but you can get the same type stuff at wal*mart or Target
    liquid
i use powder, but everyone is different though so try them all. if it is too expensive to do that, go to a store in the mall like macy's and in their make-up department there are people there to help. just ask if you can try different types and they will match the color of the product to your skin. they are professionals so they do a good job and know what they are talking about
Put on some foundation mixed with lotion. About half and half. It makes it just glide on and look natural. then dust some powder on! ( congrats on being 15! So am i!) Got your permit yet???
    bare minerals is awesome.
    SHEER COVER
if your only problem is uneven skin tone and a couple spots, i think you should invest in a good tinted moisturizer and light concealer. hold off wearing a full face of foundation for as long as possible cause you're still only 15.

and the most important thing you can ever do when buying any kind of coverup is make sure it matches your skin tone PERFECTLY. often times i have to buy two shades so i can mix them together. there's nothing worse than your face being a different color than your neck!
if you have like bad skin [if you have acne] dont use a powder but liquid would be good for smooth skin..which is like still spots and uneven skintone
    'bare minerals'

    sephora sells it...i love it!

    use it practically everyday!
At 15 powder older than 40 liquid. The powder shows off wrinkles.
for me mousse provides good coverage and looks natural. if you talk to the people selling it they should be able to help you find the right color and kind of you.
    clinique!

its totally good for your skin and looks natural!

  • What is best to use - washing powder, tablets or liquid - in you washing machine?

I find the tablets and powder leave white bits in your clothing which shows up under UV lights. (As a goth who visits clubs, this is really bad!) I use liquid by Aerial for Coloured clothes so my black garments don't fade as quickly.

In terms or eco friendly, I think the tablets are very wasteful as they come in individual wrappings.

I don't think any are bad for you machine although powder clogs up the tray. What is best to use - washing powder, tablets or liquid - in you washing machine?
a washing board elbow grease.and carbolic soap.and it will

keep you fit. What is best to use - washing powder, tablets or liquid - in you washing machine?
Liquid probably mixes better, but I still use powder, even if I do have to pour in a jug of water to start with to stop it remaining in the dispenser as a lump of wet sludge.
I prefer tablets but it's purely a matter of personnel preference they are all equally as good in my opinion
The little sachets of liquid are nice, the washing has a nice aroma with it after it's been washed.
For me personally i use liquid tabs, powder is ok if you use a water softener and do a empty hot wash once a month to get rid of the powder build up in your washing machine.
I prefer the liquid but to be honest they all clean the same depending on the brand. Gain is the best
I think liquid - I use it and I'm really glad. I wouldn't change to anything else - it smells nice, it's economic and things are soft after that.
Washing liquid is the best as it won't give you a marks like powder or tablets stains on your clothes.
I prefer the liquid...powder leaves little crystals all over the place.(probably because I use cold water),,,but try Tide Simple Pleasures....smells and works soooooo good
I use Tide (liquid), works wonderful. You can pick out and liquid degernt. But my fiance breaks out to gain. So I can use that, and I love it. If you pour your sofer in like snuggle would be a brand. I discover it leaves spots on your clothes, it looks like grease spots. So I use the sheets for the dryer now.work great also. Just use your mind and you figure it out...
Personally, I prefer liquid. I bought those little gel filled pouches and they didn't work and got all gunk over my clothes. I also used powder and it was still left in the drawer so I phoned the Persil helpline, and they said if you have low water pressure it can affect what product you use.

They advised me to try the liquid (they sent me a voucher for 拢25 worth!) and I haven't looked back.
I prefer the tablets you can buy ones that have comfort included in them Persil do them, very nice!
Bold 2in1 so easy to use just zap a cupfull in your machine, keaves clothes smelling gorgeous and the smell lastsfor ages
washing powder cause it disolves quicker thats wat i do luv lil jj
Even though I've not yet used a washing machine, I personally think if liquid detergents are used, then it is much more cost effective, since u need smaller amounts, as well as they dissolve much faster and smoother way than any others.

The most important thing is that liquid detergents do not leave any suds, and get fully used.

Generally we are used to make more foam with detegents, but they are of no use, since foam resides in few minutes.

So I think we must go for a detergent which creates a very little amount of sud as well as foam.

Good luck go as per your wish.

Which is better for the for the environment, liquid or powder laundry detergent?

the liquid it is more concentrated and requires less packaging and it will do more wash loads.Go with the cold water detergents uses less energy (no hot water) for the same wash ,avoid bleaches when doing laundry they are hard on the environmentWhich is better for the for the environment, liquid or powder laundry detergent?
It takes less energy to haul a powder than it does a liquid. Essentially, you are paying to haul water hundreds of miles, when you could simply add the water when the powder gets to the destination.

If you must use a liquid for convenience, use the most concentrated one (sometimes labeled ';ultra';) that you can.Which is better for the for the environment, liquid or powder laundry detergent?
Either liquid or powder detergent can be full of fillers, and unwanted chemicals. Look for a natural product that is concentrated as much as possible: the kind I use needs only one ounce per load! There is no room in that ounce for a lot of fillers, and junk. Also takes up less resources to package and ship!
What is in the soap is more important than if it is liquid or powder. Find a soap with enviro friendly ingredients. There are a number of them available on the market now. No sulphites, vegtable emulsifiers (often from soy) and no dyes or scents added.
Neither, Soap nuts are. I use them and they are clean for the environment and for clothing, even for allergies. They are all natural.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soap_nut
neither one is better. the better solution is an eco-friendly laundry detergent which is available at most supermarkets
Out of the environmentally friendly liquid and powder, it takes less energy to make the powder one.
the powder because their is more detergent or the same its just consentrated.
    NO EFFECT ON ANY ENVIROMENT

What is the difference( in ingredients ) between washing up liquid and washing powder?

I`m not sure the difference in the ingredients but liquid is better....powder sometimes will leave clumps in your wash....If you have a septic tank you should always use liquid.

Sorry I could not be of more help..What is the difference( in ingredients ) between washing up liquid and washing powder?
Bulk for one. The powder is bulkier so you sacrifice shelf space.

Second I find I get a residue on the clothes when I use dry powder in our very hard water. Hardly none with liquid detergent.

Washing soap is something all together different and not good for use in hard water as it leaves a soapy residue on the clothes.

If you are asking if there is more sodium in dry vs. liquid, I don't know.

What is the best brand of foundation to use? (and should i use powder or liquid?)?

I have been searching and searching for the best but cant seem to get it right i have even got some pretty expensive brands.... they are good but i want better. If you know any good foundations please tell me the name brand, and price

Thanks =)What is the best brand of foundation to use? (and should i use powder or liquid?)?
MAKEUP FOREVER HD FOUNDATION ($40) u could get this at sephora. its a liquid.

    OR

if u want powder, i would get MAC STUDIO FIX powder (about$26)

i prefer liquid. What is the best brand of foundation to use? (and should i use powder or liquid?)?
Try using a primer before your foundation it may go on smoother/last longer.

You use both ;O! Liquid for your foundation and powder to set it.

What kind of coverage do you want?

Full coverage? I'd go with MAC studio fix fluid. This is the foundation I use I set it with studio fix powder but any powder will work, you're not caking it on. just a light coat so your face has no shine.

Medium coverage: MUFE HD liquid foundation or Revlon colorstay I've used both of these personally I don't think the makeup forever one lives up to the name, it's great coverage but I found the same coverage is the revlon one. You can use any powder for these too (I used studio fix powder) Also MAC studio sculpt is pretty nice (it broke me out) but thats probably because I have oily skin and it's made for dry skin. It gives such a nice glow and a buildable coverage, I liked it so much I considered keeping it even though I broke out!

Light coverage: L'oreal true match liquid (I used the true match powder to set it, I got it in a value pack years ago) I used this foundation about 2-3 years ago, and I went through about two bottles before I got into higher end stuff. This stuff was amazing. It was a light coverage, but buildable to a medium coverage! It's def. worth the money.

    Hope this helped.
for me the use of foundation depends of several things, is it for an occasion? if so revlon's colorstay liquid foundation has better reviews than even the expensive ones like bobbi brown. is your face oily like mine? i use mineral foundation to take care of the oil and it does especially if i use mineral veil. it also depends on your budget. do you also mean drugstore affordable foundation? then revlon's colorstay is around US$12 but usually they have a sale like buy 1 take 1 promo sales.

so, it really depends on your skin type, where you're going and your budget. cheap ones but are ok maybelline's mineral foundation, palladio's liquid foundation, and revlon. the higher end ones are mac and bobbi brown which some people claim to be their hg (holy grail foundations).
First of all I'd say use liquid always because it is easier to apply. Powder foundations tend to be quite cakey and come off easier. Don't get a foundation that is too thick. Personally I like Clinique foundations because they are better for your skin, they have good coverage, they are not too expensive and you can get a foundation suitable for your skin type... whether it be dry, normal or oily. I like bobbi brown foundations too... but the coverage is not as good.
well i would DEFINATELY stay away from liquids

makes you look cakey and orange and makes u oily and break out....nottttt good.

powder is good but I would go for a mineral fondation.

(bare escentuals or bare minerals or everyday minerals) those r pretty expensive but AMAZING plus have SPF 15 in them. but if u want a cheaper mineral go with maybelleine minerals or some drugstore brand =]
use any liquide a shade darker than your skin and powder on top of that a shade lighter than your skin, and also to highlight certain features on your face, use a bronzer.

also make sure you wash it off at the end or the day, you dont want blackheads and pimples.

and about the brand, i like covergirl and Maybelline.
it really depends on your skin tone, texture, and what you want in a foundation. i would recommend going to bobbi brown. first of all, visiting the counter will pretty much ensure your perfect match cause someone should be able to help you out.

second of all, they have a range of colors and formulas that will match your skin perfectly. their stuff is pricey, i will admit. but it's worth it. if there's any makeup i'm willing to splurge on, it's definitely foundation because a clean canvas is the most important thing when you put on makeup. so good luck!
revlon colorstay. They sell it for dry, normal, and oily skin. It covers good without looking fake. I found that powders just don't cover that well.
    http://sephora.com

Sephora has every kind of foundation and they have reviews from tons of people who haved used the product. My fave is bare minerals.
I like the mac studio fix fluid. Its very good, covers all my flaws and I just use a drugstore brand powder to set it.
    neutrogena or covergirl

    powder
Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse. Best thing I have EVER used. It's so soft. It's about 拢7.
dream matte mousse i PROPER AMAZING!

best thing i've ever used; 拢7

    hope i helped; amie xxxxxx
    maybelline dream one is fantastic!

    LIQUID!!!

if u get a good one, it wont clog ur pores! :)

    clinique is also good.

    always go liquid!!
idk wat brand. but use powder. bc liquid sux!
if you want lighter coverage, then go powder, thicker coverage, then get liquid.

go to a sephora and ask to be color matched for makeup forever HD $40-$45 or makeup forever matte velvet- about $30-$35.

or go to a mac counter/store and ask to be color matched to studio fix fluid $20-$25 for a cheaper alternative, but alot of people are alergic to this.

those are all liquid, but mac has a kind of liquid-ey powder called studio tech, and makeup forever had a good powder foundation also for along the same lines of the prices.

for drugstore brands then i choose revlon colorstay (liquid), they have a very good selection of colors, but when you apply, only do 1 section at a time, it dries quite fast.

revlon also has a powder that i have heard good reviews about, but i suggest buffing in with a kabuki brush, if you dont know what that is then here is a picture, it is mac: http://www.maccosmetics.com/product/spp.tmpl?CATEGORY_ID=CAT146%26amp;PRODUCT_ID=1344, but there are cheaper alternatives such as: http://www.coastalscents.com/cfwebstore/index.cfm/product/510_37/basic-essentials-kabuki-brush.cfm or http://www.coastalscents.com/cfwebstore/index.cfm/product/780_37/ultimate-italian-badger-kabuki-brush.cfm or my favorite http://www.coastalscents.com/cfwebstore/index.cfm/product/999_37/pink-kabuki-brush.cfm

if you don't know what this strange type of brush is, it is good for buffing in powder so it does not look cakey or flakey. maybe the brush you are using is preventing what you are looking for, i suggest going to mac stores, but if you cannot afford that then there is http://www.coastalscents.com which is qwhere the links to the kabukis are from. if you do not know what to get from coastal scents then go to a mac store and explain your problem, they will suggest a brush for you. then, remember the number of it, if it is the 187 stippling brush then type in on youtube 'mac 187' and a list of alternatives will most likely come up. you can do this with any brush you want a duplicate for, also check out http://www.crownbrushes.com

How long should a person wait after applying liquid foundation to apply powder?

I've noticed that after I apply my foundation and wait and then apply powder no matter how little powder I use my nose looks bumpy! I have no bumps on my nose at all..It's completely smooth. Does it have anything to do with how long I'm waiting after applying liquid foundation? I usually wait about 4 minutes-ish.

Well lotion contains a lot of unnecessary oils that your skin really doesn't need in certain areas of your face. I do not use lotions on my nose, However the Dove Pro Age is made by pharmaceuticals that contain spf sunscreen for your face. Also if you have fine hair on your face, lotions and makeup will cling to the hairs making your makeup seem clumpy and it will smear when you try to apply it the way you normally do. If you must use a lotion try the Dove Pro Age or Noah's Natural night cream that can be worn under your makeup. It has no styerates in it and it is not greasy after application, not too mention that it's organic and healthy for your skin. Sometimes liquid foundation also has oils in it that will conflict with the lotion on your face. Try an oil free make up. Cover girl makes oil free liquid foundations with a blue cap on the bottle and is affordable.
wait a little longer or you could blow dry it with a hair blow dryer and make shure it cold
WELL I DUE MY FOUNDATION FIRST THEN WEN IM DONE I PUT THE POWDER RITE AWAY AND I LOOK GOOD
are you using lotion on your skin, or is it oily? that might be the problem. maybe youre looking too closely!

What kind of foundation looks most NATURAL on skin?(powder, liquid mousse, etc)?
a mineral powder, try bare essentials/bare minerals, its great! What kind of foundation looks most NATURAL on skin?(powder, liquid mousse, etc)?
    powder.
The best thing is to buy a good concealer...

MAC makes the best one, but if you're not trying to spend a lot of $$$, try L'Oreal True Match...

It blends VERY well, and looks natural when applied correctly.

    Good Luck!
Liquid is definitely the most natural as it sinks into your skin, while powder stays on top. But even more important that consistency is to get the exact match to your skin type. If you go to the drugstore, Cover Girl Tru Blend is good at matching as is L'Oreal True Match. Test with the testers on your jaw line in vertical stripes, go over to the window and see which one matches your skintone exactly. If you go to the department store, check out Clinique, they have one for acne control as well.
Yes, I would so try Bare Minerals, it is the best make up ever and if you forget to take it off at tnight no worries its all natural and so its ok.... You should stop at a store and tell them to try it on you so you can ssee if you like it... and the starter kit goes a long way...
If you have oily skin, a powder foundation would be best. If you have combination or dry skin, a liquid would look better. Or you could use a tinted moisturizer and set it with a translusent powder, which would look the most natural.
The BEST is the coverup in a lipstick tube... its the bomb-diggity yo!
I use Bare Minerals. I too have spots and uneven skin tone but I'm at the other end of the spectrum, age 49. Bare Minerals is the only make-up I have tried (and trust me, at my age I've tried a lot, even Dior makeup), and this is the only one that does exactly what it promises to do. I have no trouble concealing the ';age'; spots, and any blemishes (yes, I still get them), and have my skin come out looking flawless. And a big bonus is you don't get that ';line'; on your jaw or the side of your face where your foundation ends and your skin begins. It blends much smoother because you are buffing the foundation onto your skin.
I find mouse or liquid best a powder goes dry.

I used boots No7 when i had spots and it worked well for me.
I've heard ';Bare Minerals'; works wonders... try googling it
I know its expensive. I know... but invest in Bare Minerals powder foundation by Bare Essentuals. It will make you look flawless and like the girls in the mags. I swear. i have the hardest skin to match with foundation because I have uneven spots too, and it makes me look amazing. I also have large pores (stupid genetics) and it makes them invisible. The kit comes with two foundations, powder, bronzer, a dvd, and three brushes. It is such an amazing product. Look at sephora or nordstroms.
I used to have skin like that, i used cliniques 3 step range, it soon cleared me up, give it 3 months and wow, the results are astronomical. And as for the foundation, also clinique, perfectly balanced is great, and if you ask in store they often give you a free tester. The i usually top it off with some cheap translucent powder and some blusher or bronzer.
I have been using MineralFusion powder base on my face for 3+ years. It blends perfectly and you can't tell you are wearing makeup. And it doesn't clog your pores or irritate your skin if you have acne. You can buy it at Whole Foods market, and you should try a couple colors on your face to test it out. The downside is that is is really espensive. $36.00 for a normal sized compact, but it lasts for up to six months. Use a kabuki brush to apply. you can also buy it online at www.mineralfusioncosmetics.com. I deffinitley reccomend it!
I like the mousse its really light .. but you should try to just put make-up where you really need it .. if its because of acne maybe you could try get it cleared up instead of covering it up ... good luck hun!
wear physicians formula mineral loose powder. it looks like your wearing nothing while covering everything. it keeps away unwanted oil and looks great all through the day. its made for sensitive and acne prone skin so it wont clog your pores.
    i like the powder! It's long-lasting!

Are there a fatal pill/powder/liquid of any kind you can pour in coffee to kill someone?

I鈥檓 writing a screenplay and need a realistic poison name that is

easy to get and wont show in the autopsy. My one character kills

    her boyfriend.

If it does show in the autopsy that is okay, as long as it is

easy to get and wont be able to taste it in coffee? Are there a fatal pill/powder/liquid of any kind you can pour in coffee to kill someone?
Sleeping powder. It is tasteless and wont show up in an autopsy. It takes about three days to kill a person. Are there a fatal pill/powder/liquid of any kind you can pour in coffee to kill someone?
If your character has an allergy, say peanuts, she could use peanut oil, which could be hidden with flavored coffee.
Since you are writing a play - not writing an essay, just make up something. Asking about poisons that kill people on the Internet is just asking for trouble.
I agree with uncrk123 - a peanut allergy and either put peanut oil in the coffee or in a cake or something.
Castor Beans...although unsure of the taste :)
Well I dont think thats a very good question to ask specially on the net
ha ha if you find out let me know!!!!!!! j/k
